Background: Jewel was left at a druid grove in High Forest as an infant. The Arch Druid Kel found the infant and was so struck by her emerald green eyes, eyes he called jewels, that he took in the infant as his own and raised her. As a result, Jewel has a profound lack of knowledge on what it is to be a hin. She has never known the language of her kin being raised by a human. She grew up in the culture of human and elvish druids and became an expert in her natural surroundings. She particularly took an interest in plants, flowers, and seeds. She constantly experiments with cross breeding plants and especially flowers. As she is of age, her adoptive father allowed her to travel to the Sword Coast to visit the library at Candlekeep to further her botanical knowledge. Through a network of druidic circles, she safely made passage to Baldur's Gate. She loved the travel and soaked up all the new sights, sounds, and smells along the way. She is especially fascinated with large cities as she's never seen one until her journey to the Coast. And, unlike most druids, is not uncomfortable in urban settings.

Goals: Secure lost botanical knowledge from the library at Candlekeep and make contact with the local druids. Explore the area for new plant and flower species.

Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts: Unknown to either Jewel or her adoptive father, it was Jewel's biological father who brought her to the grove. Her father is Kalisjankemi, an emerald dragon. Kalis, as he was known, loved to travel among people as either a human or hin. He met and fell in love with a lovely hin and they were soon married. Kalis was content to live the life of husband and father and was looking forward to the birth of their child. However, Kali's wife died in childbirth. A distraught Kalis knew he couldn't rightfully care for the child and there were no local hin communities to leave her with. So, he left her with a local druid conclave he was familiar with. Kalis has since left the area and has not been seen since.

As she levels, Jewel will become more "dragon" like until eventually having the ability to morph into one.

If you want to say that the "emerald dragon" was really just a druid who stayed in dragon form all the time and had everyone thinking he was a dragon, that's fine.
