Shes actually from Shed Nasad, daughter of ShriNeerune Hlaund of House Hlaund, one of the last Matron to sit on the counsil as the city fell to the Jaezred Chaulssin .

Born in the midle of a war , Kar was taken as trophy and slave to Chaulssin by a drow that came to be known as revered Grandfather Mauzzkyl , a somwhat important NPC figure in the Jaezred Chaulssin organization.

where this link to a possible plot : very young , she mysteriously escaped Chaulssin and Mausskyl's grasp then she was hidden in Shaamath's school of mages . She doesnt know this but she was ingeneered from conception through dark rituals to be not only the daughter of one of the last loth matron of Shed Nasaf but also to be a powerfull weapon to be used against the Jaezred Chaulssin ... Grandfather Mauzzkyl knows all this and even ten years later he'd still be looking for her i guess. The school of mages grandmasters could also be implicated in various ways.
