Habits/Hobbies: Asira is an artisan of unique talent. She carves figurines out of bone, wood, and especially ivory (her favorite). She enjoys creating animals, flowers, holy symbols and the like and will carve one as a present for people she likes. When she isn’t training, she can be found working on a carving. In addition to her carving, she enjoys reading and keeps a small journal to note new friends and companions and to document new skills and tactics she has learned from others.

Background: Asira was born to a well known and rather large family in Gullykin. At an early age, she was noted for being more serious than other hins who are normally known for their lack of seriousness. She would prefer to practice swordsmanship with her parents who were master swordsmen in their own right and members of the Gullykin Militia. Her talent grew quickly and she expected to join the Gullykin Militia like her parents before her. However, fate had other plans for the young hin.

During the annual feast of ascension, when young hins are recognized as adults, the Arvoreen bishop announced he had a vision. His vision told him that Asira was to travel to Candlekeep and join the Knights Protector of the Avowed; a new group formed under the auspices of Guide Wendell Ashby and supervised by the knight Kald. Her destiny was with them and her actions would one day bring honor on her family and Gullykin. The bishop speculated that Arvoreen is aiding Oghma in protecting the Candlekeep as the center of knowledge.

Of course, this was a shock to Asira and her parents, but she did not question it and quickly set about preparing herself. She gathered her meager belongs, her sword and armor and set off for Candlekeep. After testing the waters in the area and securing new companions and friends, she sought out Kald to offer her services as a Protector of the Avowed. Kald readily accepts her to her immense pleasure. With her position secured, she offered prayers to Arvoreen and set about securing quarters in the barracks. Once finished, she decides to sit outside in the cool winter air and begin another carving. “This one will be a begonia I think,” she says to herself.

Goals: Faithfully perform her duties and prepare for what may be in store for her. Live up to the standards of the “Vigilant Protector” and to Oghma by protecting the vital works of knowledge and the avowed who keep them.

Possesses a self-assured, confident personality. Eager to prove herself, she can be rash at times in battle. Is not easily intimidated and can put a bully in his place with a look.
