Habits/Hobbies: Enjoys experimenting and enchanting as well as plotting and the occasional drink. He is a very happy drunk until the day the after.

Background: Hailing from Amn the recent conflict proved to be perfect oppertunity to escape several money grubbing landlords who are quite upset over some debts he failed to repay. Fortunately no one will care to look for an Amnian with debts in Baldurs Gate. He suspects he will be fine as long as he hides his heritage and pretends his accent is from Calimshan or Chult.

As a child he became enamored with the power the Cowled Wizards represent when they arrested the murderer of his father who was an Amnian merchant from Crimmor by trade. The murderer was a dangerous magical deviant from Waterdeep and was slain a spell flinging fight that left Luys' family home in burned cinders. Ever since he has striven to find a way to join thei ranks of the Cowled ones and advance himself in the world and most of all to prevent other mages from abusing their magic. Like most Amnians he feels that magic should be controlled and regulated instead of freely practiced and in his heart he dreams of leading Amn into an even more prosperous new age as the secret leader of the Council of Six. He shares this dream with no-one, knowing it may be the path to an early demise or be taken in jest.

While his ideal is that magic should be controlled he is not above using it to further his own plans, as long as rules are bent instead of broken. This pattern of self justification has driven him into conflict with several landlords in his home city Crimmor because Luys refures to pay for services that weren't rendered from his perspective. The fact that he is also broke has nothing to do with that.

Goals: To become a Cowled Wizard and return to Athkathla a powerful and wealthy man

Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts: Amnish in northern lands, selfish wizard. May seek association with the Red Wizards to gain study oppertunities. He has no specialized school however nor wishes to actually join their ranks. Likewise for Candlekeep and any other organisations except the Cowled Wizards that boast access to magical knowledge
