Background: Originates from Moonshae Islands. He grew up on a small farm with a large family. Five brothers and six sisters all told. He was the eldest and as such was his responsibilities. Many times he was put in charge of his younger siblings before he reached his teenage years. By the time he became fourteen he became exhausted with the redundancy of farm life, each day seemed to bleed into the next. To compensate, the threw himself into militia training and romancing young ladies.
Two years went by and neither pursuit quenched his restlessness, he yearned for more in life, but had no idea what it was he was yearning for. One day, he simply up and left. He gathered his meager possessions, a few silver, bid his heart broken teary eyed mother goodbye, and headed for the nearest port. He enlisted in the first ship leaving port that was desperate enough to take a novice seaman such as himself.
The Lightstar, an impressive vessel, but not in size. Captained by a younger man of a similar background named John Light. John saw something in Xanatos and thought it best to mentor the young man. John was a good man, accomplished sailor, but poor businessman. His administration skills were abysmal, for the most part, because John did not care for such things. He made Xanatos a deck hand, helping out where ever needed. He had a talent in cooking , so he was stationed as permenant cook. During that time John taught Xanatos how to read and write. Xanatos quickly improved his rudimentary skills, which lead to him taking over John's administrative duties as a steward.
Three years went by and Xanatos was past his nineteenth year of birth, tragedy struck. A storm that could not be outrun nor weathered sunk the small ship. All hands were lost. Xanatos awoke in darkness to the sound of someone playing an odd melody. A dark melody that assailed the senses, but moved the soul. It was near perfection. Xanatos cried out to the darkness, "who is there?, Where am I?" with no response. He repeated his cries and was answered by a hand on his arm. "Everything will be fine, my son. You are in the temple of Ishtisira".

He spent a year there and learned music first, as his blindness did not subside for six months. He improved his grasp of literature and all the teachings of isthisira. After twenty and a half years, old age caught up with his new mentor. Heartbroken and devastated by the loss of his second mentor in less then two years, he felt he could no longer stay.
As experienced sailor he had no problem finding a new ship. He joined a large merchant vessel this time, The SilverStar, as chief steward. He spent much of his free time writing about his travels, entertaining the crew with folk songs he learned along the way. After his fifth year aboard the vessel he became restless again. With enough coin earned to live comfortably for a time without employment he departed in good standing to pursue other interests. Namely his music and writing. He has spent the last two years adventuring, questing for new inspirations, new things to write about.
Goals: Publish primarily non-fiction pieces. Compose musical pieces that are contrary to current music theory. Explore new lands, bring new knowledge to the literate.
Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts: He believes knowledge should be written and shared and encourages literacy. He is always looking for the most interesting story to write about. Though his womanizing days have been over for at least three years, he still has a weakness for fair maidens.
