Fade's Diary

[Fade]

If you read the following then you assume to read it all OOC, I would ask that anyone who reads it does not use the information about her actions IC. You may however use it to get a ‘feel’ for what this character is all about.

Background and personality traits

Fade is a Drow wizard with significant potential. She fled her home after learning arcane magic. Her family did not tolerate female magic users. Female drow were to become priestesses. Arcane magic was left to the lesser males.

She still holds many of the prejudices of her upbringing and this causes many conflicts within Sshamath.

While she is neither evil or good, she will do whatever she can to further her social status. She will help others who she believes may be of use to her in the future or harm those she views as a threat.

She will try to stay within the law wherever possible but has no moral issues with breaking it better herself.

She respects those with power and authority.

She presents herself as cold and rarely displays any fear openly. She presents herself as dominant to almost everyone that she meets. When she meets someone who she believes is above her, she does not act fully submissive but shows fire and treats them almost as equal.



Notable actions to date

She was approached by Shur and invited to join the rebel group, she believes Shur to be infatuated with herself. She delayed joining the rebels until she could meet with the powerful magicians they claimed to have in their ranks. She was forewarned about the circle and how she would be pursued by them to sign a contract.

Her party was set upon by Israe’. They fought back but lost one of their own before she escaped. Later in a discussion with Israe she suspected her to be a member of this rebel faction, but her memories of the occasion are foggy due to fear.

She encountered Valshar while arguing with Israe and several others at the necromancer. Valshar was intrigued by her. She requested to study under him, which he declined. She then offered to share the information she has on the rebels in exchange for apprenticeship. Impressed by her deviousness and seeing further potential he accepted.

Later Valshar took her to see the leader of the seventh. He tried to force a contract upon her however she refused. He presented a second, more lenient contract which she again refused. However she did agree to join the circle but with no contract in place, A bargain was struck and she was placed at the higher levels of power within the organisation in exchange for sharing information on the rebelious plot.

During her lessons with Valshar he revealed that he could unlock more of her magical potential but the ritual was dangerous and would result in her death. She would have to trust in his abilities to bring her back to life. She agreed to carry out the ritual knowing she was worth much more alive than dead to him.

After the ritual her magical abilities had increased significantly however she was suprised to find that she had lost all of her skill in combat and felt weaker than before. She believes her master took her excess strength for himself and considers it a fair bargain.

Notable Relationships

Alys

Fade initially found Alys extremely intriguing. She had never encountered a tiefling before. Soon though she realised that she was riddled with fear, highly submissive and posed no significant threat. She did show great promise and Fade desired to take her for a servant.

Since Israe has released Alys from her service and into the service of the circle Fade has used her position of power to take advantage of Alys’ abilities. During this time Fade has been kind to Alys and she has started showing some backbone. She is not sure what to make of this character at this time.

Israe

Fade has had few encounters with this character but all of them have led to open agression between them. Fade views Israe as an equal, and believes them to be similar individuals. She may find an Ally in Israe and maybe even friendship or perhaps a rival, only time will tell. For now Fade views her as a threat, but admires her abilities.
Valshar

Fade is loyal to her master and considers him to be her only friend in Sshamath. He has always been good to her so far and she is using him on her rise to power. She is grateful for being under his protection and utilises his power to further her own goals. She is not entirely sure what he is receiving in return for such a relationship, perhaps he desires friendship, there is little else he could want for or he simply sees great potential in Fade and does not want her as an enemy.
