Joan Little - Her Story (so far)

Note - I generally prefer to roleplay these things in game, as in the course of real life, so I'm not going to put too much meat on the bones at present.

Joan was a foster child of unknown origin (at least to her, one of her major gripes; one could speculate that there are known groups of Ghostwise Halflings in the area, but Joan is not aware of this). She was brought up by some Wild Elves in Chondalwood, who treated her more like a servant than a daughter. She resented this mightily and this is the main reason that she doesn't like or trust Elves. Her "name" was also given by them and is another "insult".

She "escaped" at the earliest available opportunity and decided to put as many miles between her and Chondalwood as possible. She has rejected the Wild Elf way of life, but some of their influences remain, like the tattoos and her methods of fighting. She likes to remain hidden and sneaks around - it's hard to know whether this is a racial trait or a learnt one - but she isn't that good at it (which used to attract taunts from the Wild Elves). Still, she diligently practices her skills and studies those who use them.

Joan is quite bright, but likes to hide that as well, and although smart she is not streetwise. She is also quite capable of letting her tongue run away; her attitude can also be surly if people don't approach her the right way. The Wood Elves told her she was ugly, and despite rejecting them completely she has been unable to overcome the feeling that they were right. She therefore doesn't take much trouble over her appearance, and looks somewhat dowdy.

As she is young and unworldly, she is somewhat of a tabula rasa. Only time will tell exactly how she will develop.
