Amelor E'leivra, a wild elf exile

Unread post by Kasmir »

First Name: Amelor
Last Name: E'leivra

Appearance:
When he first arrived in Baldur's Gate, Amelor wore the simple leather and animal skin garb typical of his tribe. He is currently wearing a rather exotic-looking set of leathers and skins which have a dull reddish sheen. His hands are calloused from outdoor work and his skin is tanned, yet of course without wrinkles. At first glance or from a distance he can pass as an attractive young human who has spent most of his life under the sun.

Race: Wild Elf
Age: 120
Height 5'8"
Weight: Would be an average build for a human, looks big for an elf, about 120 pounds
Eyes: Hazel
Hair: Long, dark golden, covers his ears
Facial Hair Style: None

Personality Profile:
Unusually for a wild-elf, Amelor was born with an outgoing personality and a burning desire to travel the world and meet new people. In some ways a little naive, especially for an elf, he tends to be an optimistic and jovial soul, always trying to see the good in people and marveling at the glorious diversity of the denizens of Baldur's Gate. Rather emotional and with a tendency to jump into action, Amelor wears his heart on his sleeve. He has been known to play the odd practical joke on his fellows. Not averse to a romantic encounter or two, his easy manner and good looks have not gone unnoticed, especially by human women who may even regard him as a 'quirky-looking young human man' until they see his ears.
It takes a lot to annoy him. Having said that, he never forgets a true enemy. Despite his general tolerance, orcs are one exception because of the multiple merciless raids they performed on his village. It will take a lot for him to trust an orc.

General Health: Healthy and hearty
Deity: Rillifane Rallathil
Initial Alignment: Chaotic Good
Profession: Former hunter, now adventurer

Base Class & Proposed Development:
Ranger --> Sorcerer --> Eldritch Knight.
Initially a skilled hunter and bowman, Amelor has increasingly found that his affinity for and control of fire has increased over time, without any study or effort on his part. Despite this, he still thinks of himself as a warrior, and practices a highly fluid and mobile style of fighting with two small weapons.

Habits/Hobbies:
He will still use some of the phraseology of his tribe, such as 'blessings of the leaflord upon you' and 'may the sun shine on your leaves'. His main hobby is charming attractive females, though often this is light-hearted unless the target of his affections shows some reciprocal interest.
As a side effect of his 'amnesia curse' (see below), his wonderment at seeing new places (or even places he's seen a few times) has grown to become almost comic ("Have you ever seen a mushroom as beautiful as this?"). The same is true of new people, new spells etc etc.

Languages: Common, Elven, Sylvan
Weapon of Choice: Light weapons, dual wielder but no preference for type of light weapon

Background:
Amelor was expelled from his tribe for being too 'open'. For such an insular wild-elf tribe, 'open' was defined as any contact with other tribes (even wild elves), let alone other races. Suffice it to say there were many incidents of Amelor not killing strangers on sight, and even engaging in conversation with them. The final straw was his revealing the location of the tribe to a potential enemy on a hunting trip. The tribe's shaman cast a powerful spell on Amelor, and now he couldn't tell you which direction to start walking to find his tribe. Not knowing where to go or what to do with himself, he eventually made his way to Baldur's Gate. There to his amazement he found many elves willing to talk to him, and humans and other races he'd never met before. Even orcs wandering around in civilised clothing...!

Goals:
Initially his personality is leading him to meet as many people and see as many new places as he can and to make a living for himself adventuring. Ultimately he is drawn back to his wild-elf heritage and longs to 'enlighten' his kin that not everyone out there is out to get them (except for orcs, of course). This might eventually lead him back to his own tribe (if he can remove his curse) or perhaps down a different path with a new tribe...?

Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts:
In truth his openness was just one of the reasons he was shunned. He had also started to develop an unnerving affinity for fire, not such a good trait in the service of the Leaflord, Rillifane Rallathil, though he had never been the most devout of followers anyway. Someone in the tribe wanted him gone...

He is rapidly developing that ability to control and summon fire, seemingly at will //(e.g. fiery burst feat -fairly useless in combat but great for RP)//. This was a rare trait in his tribe and he has no idea why he has such power. The rest of his innate abilities tend to enhance his melee ability and/or provide protective wards.

Almost without question he will join any endeavour to reduce the surplus population of orcs in the world.

The fact that his personality is so out of kilter with the norm in his tribe, and that he is tall and well-built for an elf, might suggest some human heritage a couple of generations back (a human or half-elven grandparent perhaps?).

Reviewed, xp rewarded.
And though I played the role,
I lost my soul, it's still within your heart.
It took a part of me, the heart of me..
To watch it fade away, It's over now..
Shades of blue and purple haunt me..
