Background:
Bask was adopted into a prominent family of noble merchants in Waterdeep. He bears only small physical signs of his deity's touch, and thus was able to lead a fairly normal life, for an adopted boy who is athletic, good-hearted and fairly attractive to those who like that type. Bask's father was a shrewd, disciplined man who wanted the best for Bask, and thus forced him to serve at the Lathanderite temple in Waterdeep. This was much to Bask's reluctance, as he found the priest's there to be boring and the lessons to be dull. As a young man full of energy, he would often sneak away and stay out all night just to see each dawn after a long day of activities. This of course earned him much ire from his father, who would scold Bask about not taking his gift seriously. However, once he was of age for a few years, Bask decided to pack up and go off on an adventure, as many young men are likely to do. This journey would take him South along the Sword Coast, and it is there where his story begins in earnest. He has recently arrived in Baldur's Gate with his friend and companion, Api. Together, the two of them can scarce imagine what adventures will await in this new place.
Goals:
In spite of Bask feeling that priesthood wasn't for him, he is still very much devoted to the dogma of Lathander. Because of this his goals are aligned with that of the deity, and he wishes to spread laughter and joy, as well as become an accomplished adventurer and explorer in his own right.
Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts:
Bask could be persuaded to join any number of good-aligned factions, but otherwise is a fresh soul in the adventuring world, and has no past enemies of significance. However, there is always the chance he could be targeted for his Aasimar heritage.
