Background:
Born in Ssamath, Tedia wasn't exposed to the common Lolthie influence unlike most drow. Even still, she was raised worshipping the spider queen but almost on the level of lip service over the pious views.
She is a member of a middle class house with but a few members, torn apart by the various internal conflicts and external conflicts. Formerly, during her birth, this was a prosperous house but by the time Tedia reached adolescence the family became impoverished. Impoverished for a drow house.
To make a living she joined up a member of the School of Mages in his creation of magic items. During the study under him to properly take care of the items for selling she learned how to activate magical items despite never studying wizardry as whole. She stayed under this wizard, careful not to grow overly fond of him and the job for she had greater plans. One day she fiddled with one of the magical items entrusted on her to malfunction in a deadly fashion when activated. She planned to take over the wares the wizard has and get rich out of it to return her house to prosperity. Her plan backfired for the wizard activated the magical item during an exposition to draw customers. The magical item killed him as planned but also scared away the costumers. She had a large amount of items she couldn't sell. She tried to peddle them away but soon found out she isn't a merchant.
Reaching her 110th year making a living by collecting a few lost items from the sewers, she met a few surface adventurers descended into Ssamath for mercantile. Amongst them was a surface elf. She watched them with curiosity, overhearing their various tales of adventure on the surface. The surface elf baffled her, for he was as ruthless as any drow she met if not more. And powerful in his magics. A seed was planted in her, a seed of a goal. And that goal was to see the surface world for herself.
She needed connections, equipment, power and gold to achieve that. She had none of that. Once again she apprenticed herself to another wizard trader and stuck with him until she got enough gold for weapons and armor and magical items to strike out on her own.
It happened ten years later. She quit her job then headed for Drux Lexei. Her faith in Lolth has grown a bit, for she appeared in Varalla's some months ago to stop the Alhoon but still, she didn't see her helping her otherwise, it seemed an one-sided deal to her. The clergy was no help either, they weren't interested in the surface at all. But the Vhaeraunites were as she later learned meeting with a cleric of his. She was successfully converted. She had the connections, partially now. She needed more connections but this will do for the time being. She needed gold, power and equipment still. After gaining some equipment with her meager gold she found it wasn't too much. She bought a crossbow for it's easy to use in the tunnels, and is deadly. At last, she set out. With the martial training she received from her father, with the deadly dances she learned from her mother, with the knowledge of magical devices she learned from her masters, with the knowledge of breaking locks and traps then explaining the situation falsely...
She was ready to set out on the quest.

Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts:
- She's a former Lolthie turned Vhaeraunite
- She's from a impoverished merchant house
- She's the one behind the wizard's death.
- She's a little soft around the edges around males, sometimes intentionally to control them but sometimes involuntarily
- She possesses some beauty unrivalled by the majority of drow
- Dislikes Tan'uurks and goes out of her way to make them miserable.
- Has a penchant for fine, elven wine from the surface.
- Tends to wear expensive clothing underneath her armor, only to later complain if they become damaged.
- She's rather learned of the surface world, but some of her knowledge is out-dated. For example she learned Thorass, the old Common instead of the new one.
