"I sit here in wonder, how do these creatures sleep so very much when their lives are so short? How can one stand to know that in the next decades, decay will begin to set in and yet still be able to close one's eyes and dream of a tomorrow. Tis so very amusing to me but then again, whom am I to judge but a bastard of no particular distinction. This life is so very amusing! This human sleeps thinking I had not noticed her pocketing a mere ten gold pieces from my trousers, ten gold pieces!!!
Well, she was worth more than this, to bad I will be gone in morning with my gold returned from the human male at the bar. I can not believe he wears such a musk and expects to go unnoticed in the next room. Shameful, but perhaps his life is still worth something and will see this once I return my hard earned gold at sword point. I will let him keep the agreed upon price but I have a reputation to keep after all. A reputation as a bastard!!
Oh how very funny this is, as I sit here drinking this surprisingly good Amnian wine, that my father's teeth must be gritting knowing that the blade our family, excuse me, his family is within my hands. What grave concern his wife must have knowing the great shame of her husband. I hope she despairs, for I know she despears the day I was born. Well, it seems this journal entry is at an end, for my business partner this eve has awaken and it seems I will need to offer her some more Elven hospitality before placing her back to sleep and returning my gold.
Well, a bastard's work is never done it seems. What a wonderous place this continent is, I shall have to enjoy this for as long as it lasts, till my fathers minions come calling that is. Oh, for a human she is a lovely specimen, shame this really."
