Background: Lucas hails from the city of Waterdeep, where his parents run a general store which focuses heavily on supplying adventurers with basic supplies. They do well for themselves and Lucas grew up relatively privileged. Growing up he held a high respect for adventurers and the arcane might wielded by the rules of his city. The brilliant youth has a strong lust for knowledge of all kinds and had always been curious of magic and the power and conveniences it supplies. He studied hard in all fields in hopes of becoming an apprentice, training his mind in any way he could. Eventually a regular of the shop saw the young boy's potential and took him in as an apprentice. It was a healthy relationship and Lucas worked hard to impress his master. When his apprenticeship came to an end, his master informed him that Candle Keep would be an excellent place to continue his quest for knowledge and arcane power. So He said his goodbyes and departed, leaving on good terms with his friends, master, and parents.

Goals:
1. To gain access to candle keep's library and be able to research all knowledges at his leisure.

2. To master the greatest arcana known to mortals and know everything about everything.

3. Utilize the arcane to brave perilous environments and find fortune.

4. Travel the world, learning and experiencing different cultures.

5. Find a good woman to settle down with.

6. Open his own adventurers emporium, learn to craft magical things to sell and lead a life of luxury and renown.

Possible Plot-Hook Ideas:

A little known rival who resents Lucas for stealing his opportunity for apprenticeship.

A new master to manipulate him with promises of great power and coin. (possibly a necromancer)

A woman to manipulate him into unknowingly doing something horrible.

Completely open to anything interesting, as he is a pretty dull guy.

Misc Facts:
Loves to show off his magic and superior knowledge when ever possible, though tries not to abuse it out of respect for his goddess.

Praises all deities when they are relevant to what he is doing. Focuses devotion on Mystra and Azuth but mostly prays to Mystra regularly in thanks of the weave.

( I don't want a complicated drama filled back story, not every one needs to have one. I am more focused on what is going on in his life as an adventurer, which has just started. Mostly Lucas only cares for himself and his loved ones,this has generally kept him out of trouble.)
