First name: Ichabod
Last Name: Raspini

Appearance: Ichabod is of average height and strong build. He has intelligent eyes, messy hair, and a crooked nose that looks to have been broken and never set correctly. He is always smiling, and has a noticeable gap between his two front teeth.

Race: Human
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 200 lbs
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Light Brown
Facial Hair: Clean-shaven

Personality Profile
General Health: Ichabod is an extremely healthy person, his upbringing having been an active one. While he never actually fought much when young, his mother made sure here son wasn't a layabout. She trained him extensively.
Deity: While his mother instilled a strong sense of healthy, active living, Ichabod's father's religious inclinations made more of an impact on his thinking - Ichabod considers himself a follower of Deneir.
Initial Alignment: Ichabod's upbringing away from cities and organizations, as well as the diametrically opposed natures of his parents, had made him chaotic. Both his parents were warriors and advocates of good, though. Ichabod is chaotic good.
Profession: Ichabod learned a good deal from both his parents. his mother taught him to craft weapons, and his father spent long hours teaching Ichabod the fundamentals of study and scrivening. Ichabod has talent as a weaponsmith and a scribe, although he prefers to write.
Base Class: Ichabod has begun his career primarily as a mage, but with a strong martial background from his mother. Ultimately, Ichabod will probably end up something like Fighter 8/Wizard 12/Eldritch Knight 10.
Habits/Hobbies: Ichabod loves to learn new spells and knowledge from scrolls. He enjoys finding books on his adventures, and the most exciting kinds of treasure for him are spell scrolls he does not know yet, even if most would consider them inferior magics. He has spent some amount of time reading errant books he finds in random places, and is very interested in studying in Candlekeep, although he thinks the monks there are too cloistered.
Languages: Ichabod speaks several languages. His father taught him to read arcane writings, as well as the ancient language of dragons. The out-of-the-way area in the woods where he grew up was next to an elven community lead by an old friend of his parents, so he was exposed to the languages of the elves, and the sylvan tongue of the creatures of the forest, although he is not very proficient with either.
Weapon of Choice: Ichabod, like his mother during her adventuring career, wields a greatsword almost exclusively. He has been trained to use it both one-handed and with two. In a pinch, he pulls out a longbow, but this is rare.

Background: Ichabod was born the only son of a pair of retired adventurers, Dayanara Voll and Fitzwilliam Raspini. Ichabod's mother was a warrior by trade, and an expert swordswoman. Ichabod's father was an abjurer of middling expertise who loved to read and collect lore. After a lucrative adventuring career, the pair of them settled to an old farmhouse, far away from civilization (and trouble,) to raise a family. That family, it turned out, was Ichabod. Complications during birth rendered his mother unable to have more children. Indeed, Ichabod owes his survival to the work of an elven priest, a former companion of his parents. Were it not for the elf, Ichabod would not have drawn his first breath.
Being brought up the only child of a pair of fairly wealthy, fairly unoccupied, and fairly bored former adventurers, Ichabod found himself the subject of many lessons most children are not privy to. His mother taught him to wield a sword, to wear heavy armor correctly, to keep his weapons in fine condition, and to hone his body. Ichabod's lessons with his father, however, proved more influential. Ichabod's father would spend hours regaling the young boy with the wonders his parents had seen in their career. He taught Ichabod to love the written word, and to appreciate the value of books as a window into a past time or distant place. Ichabod's father often told tales of powerful spellbooks and ancient wisdom, and of the hallowed halls of far-away Candlekeep, where knowledge was the end, not the means. It was through these lessons and tales that Ichabod became interested in Deneir and in the study of magic. Ichabod's father saw the interest and taught him the rudiments of arcane magic, primarily abjurative spells to protect Ichabod.
Eventually, as most young people do, Ichabod grew restless. He had read all his father's books. He had mastered all his mother's sword exercises. It was time to move on. Thoughts of Candlekeep in his head, Ichabod decided he would travel to the Sword Coast to visit the place, and perhaps study in its vast libraries. With a spellbook from his father, sword and armor from his mother, and blessings from both, he set off.

Goals: Ichabod would like to eventually gain access to Candlekeep's inner library. He has been to visit the gates, and spoken with several individuals thereabouts, including a man named Gorion. He has been told he must make a donation of an expensive or rare book, but has yet to come across any which would qualify.
Ichabod would also very much enjoy opening his own scrivening business, providing rare spell scrolls to younger adventurers. He has been looking for any apartments or houses for sale in Baldur's Gate to that end. Of course, he needs to build his collection of spell-knowledge first...

Hooks and Miscellany: Rumors of a cache of rare scrolls...and auction featuring an ancient text...an elder wizard seeking an apprentice to pass knowledge on to...a request from an acolyte of Deneir or Oghma...someone has stolen some texts from Candlekeep...a small piece of property in/just outside of the Gate has gone on sale...a young wizard needs assistance or knowledge...a former adventuring companion of Ichabod's parents needs help
