The cycle had gone much like any other recently, riding a pack lizard along the trade route connecting Menzo with Sshamath as part of the retinue of a Lolthite priestess. It had been many, many cycles since he last stepped foot in his beloved city of Faerns, so many that the kivvil would call them years. As the captain of the city's feared political police, the Charnag Maelthra, Celith had his fingers into everything that was going on in Sshamath. Right up until the elevation of the Lolthites and the appearance of Lolth's avatar. Sigh. Ironic that here he was now returning in the company of yet more spider-kissers. It's a dark joke that even his deity would appreciate irrespective of his hatred of Lolth. Well, time to see what had become of the city in his absence, nothing good no doubt.
