"You are a disgrace!" Screamed my father, "You have brought terrible shame upon our Lord's clan AND our family name!"
Honor, I always viewed this as a loose concept, a guideline for how to behave in society. The key is to dance along the line, teeter on it, come right to the edge, push it to its very limits....then step abruptly back before you cross it..
"Soji! Are you even listening to me?!"
I looked up at him. He was standing, his face had turned a shade of crimson, he was clearly enraged. I had been kneeling head bowed but I raised my head and locked eyes with him...this was a no no...He clenched his fists the raised his right hand, and smacked me across the face...it stung...and I don't just mean physically.
"You bedded the Lord's daughter! SHE IS WITH CHILD! SHE IS ENGAGED!
This last part was probably the most damning, perhaps if she had been betrothed to another samurai family or perhaps even a daimyo family things could simply be called off and I would be forced to take her as my wife, but it was not so...
"SHE WAS TO BE MARRIED TO THE SON OF THE EMPEROR!"
Ah yes the prince...but he is so very boorish...the position holds no real power except for that many believe the imperial family to be a link to divinty...nonsense...the Shogun holds all the real legislative, judicial, and martial power...
"As it stands Soji...the Shogun has dispatched a police force to take you into custody...you are to be executed for this...unless you commit seppukku...this is your only chance at redemption..."
I watched my father's face carefully, the color slowly drained from it, sorrow had replaced anger, he placed a wakazashi in front of me.
"Do you want me to be your kaishakunin?"
My father looked pained. I shook my head and responded, "No Chi-chi, I will handle this on my own."He left a tray with a pen and paper for my death poem, and moved the wakazashi next to it.

Yukio sat with his back against the ship's railing, it was a quiet night and we was enjoying watching his slender partner gather her clothes, he sat draped in her purple kimono wearing nothing but his usual smirk. "You should be allowed to wear nothing but moonlight." her lightly tanned skin had an almost golden glow in the moonlight.
Chizuru Horiguchi looked back at her lover, "You must be joking Yuki," her nickname for him, "I need sunlight I'm too pale...and fat.."
Yukio frowned, "I'm the one who must be joking?" he shook his head, "When was the last time you saw your reflection?"
Chizuru shrugged and pulled on her juban, "May I have my kimono back please?"
Yukio's smirk returned and he lifted the sleeve to his nose and inhaled deeply, "I think I shall keep it, it smells as sweet as you Chizu..."
Chizuru made a playful lunge for the decorative robe, "Give it here!" with his warrior's relfexes Yukio swiftly avoided the grab, catching Chizuru's wrist and pulling her back into his embrace. Chizuru, laughed and then gave him a passionate. There would be another few hours till the sun began to rise and Yukio intended to enjoy them to their fullest....

A Dishonorable, Prideful, Lustful fool! - Sasaki Soji

LORD! punish me no more with your anger; in your wrath do not chastise me!
Your arrows have sunk deep in me;
your hand has come down upon me.
My flesh is afflicted because of your anger;
my frame aches because of my sin,
a burden beyond my strength.
-Psalm 38
