What does True Believer stand for?

Unread post by Hoihe »

Ahoy!

I wonder, does True Believer imply some sort of approval from the gods, or merely makes it that someone has no doubt in their god/fanatical about them?

If it's combined with the Devout background, what's the result?

Can someone be a True Believer of a god who might not approve them? Or only recognise them in a way of "If you die, I'll take you to my realm."

Basically!

I'm thinking of dropping 1 point of strength on Hoihe, with this whole disease thing weakening him thanks to denutrition and fasting, which would set him back in physical prowess. However, survival would mean his faith in the gods would truly be put into a concrete shell, and such.. He'd be even more zealous with being a Sehaninite [He already has the Devout background!] (Only issue mechanically is the fact that Sehanine can't be grabbed by non-elves *grumbles*, so by sheet would say Hoihe'ssuper obsessed with whatever god I chose, instead of Sehanine)

Answer from the Wiki:
http://bgtscc.wikia.com/wiki/Feat:_True_Believer
feat description wrote:You are a true and fervent believer in your adopted Deity. This feat confers no other benefit.
gameplay notes wrote:Possessing this feat means that your character has almost unshakable faith, is less prone to doubt. It does not a-contrario mean that characters without this feat are not true believers. They are merely more prone to doubt. This feat confers no benefits because faith is its own reward.
