William Tianooran was born in Thay into a poor family. Despite barely managing to get by, the family lived in a large mansion, which was the only reminder of the position and power they once wielded. Agaron was the master of the house, and Williams father. He was a man with no magical talent, his only talent was in trading, but due to a bad wand he once sold to a Red Wizard, the family lost everything.

Agaron was the father of seven, and it was the latest member of this family that would turn out to become the one with the only magical talent the family had seen in decades.

At the appropriate age, William was sent to the Academy of Conjuration in hopes that his talent would at last be fully unlocked. Alas it did not go as Agaron had hoped, after mere two years, William was the weakest of his class, barely able to cast a single cantrip. Agaron began putting more and more pressure on William.

After another year in the Academy of Conjuration, Agaron decided to spent all of his money on a private tutor to see if that would help William to develop his magical talent. Of course, Agaron had not real love for his son, merely thinking of him as a way to regain some of the family's lost reputation and power.

After spending two years with a private tutor, William had at last started to develop some his talent. After those two years the private tutor Ifaar a former Red Wizard of Thay, went to William's father and proposed that his student should be sent to the Academy of Necromancy. As Ifaar had seen Williams talent for this branch of magic.

Agaron refused to have his son go and study a foolish branch of magic, such as Necromancy. And instead decided to send him back to Conjuration, which Williams great grandfather had been a wielder of. And once one of the most powerful wizard in Thay. Rumours still persisted that the Tianooran family was descendant of Demons and devils. Ofcourse the family knew this to be nonsense but had decided long ago not to go against it, as it had given them some advantages.

It was a hellish year for William, another year at the Academy of Conjuration. He knew his talent was in Necromancy, he could feel everytime he cast one of the many spells he knew from this branch of magic that it was his calling. It was a strange feeling, it was as if he did not even need to focus and concentrate, it just came naturally. Everytime he had to cast a spell from any other school it was different, the wording had to be accurate and the proper concentration had to be there. Not that he minded, some of the other schools were interesting enough, but he did not see the same potential as he did with Necromancy.
