A Companion's Casenotes and Correspondance

Unread post by GrayDoctor »

The man before you scrabbles in the mud for his sword, his eyes blind from the crimson life pouring from the gash on his forehead. He wipes the blood away, trying to blink away what little remains as his free hand finds the hilt of his blade. As his fingers close around it he lets out a yelp, suddenly aware that you've crushed both his fingers and his blade beneath your boot.

You grip his throat, placing a knee on his chest to prevent him from rising. "Yield." Is the only word you are willing to spare for this man who so foolishly thought he could deny you your ultimate prize. He chokes and struggles against your grip, and you respond with a solid blow to the side of his head, his blood tinting his snow white locks. "Yield." You repeat more firmly.

His eyes are delirious, glazed over, babbling in that incessant celestial tongue as he coughs and sputters against your grip.

One of your allies taps you on the shoulder, handing you a small leather-bound book that apparently fell from the man's satchel during your rather short.... "duel" with him. Hungry for answers, you flip it over to the first page with glee, and are greeted by rather crude drawings and mere nonsense. Obviously some sort of code... hmm... If you could translate it, who knows what secrets might be in here? Eagerly, you begin to read.....
