Worship of Gruumsh

Unread post by Arbitrayal »

Is the worship of Gruumsh and the erecting of Temples of Gruumsh illegal in the area surrounding Baldur's Gate? Also, would it be bad RP if an orcish cleric of Gruumsh was "given" the powers of a Stormlord by Gruumsh, who is also Talos?

Illegal to my understanding? Not precisely.

I would see such a temple like the Banites Temple...dark, gloomy, isolated..but be prepared to be attacked every other minute once/if/when it was put in the mod.

Evil Churches in the area aren't ooc legal/illegal...they merely have to deal with goodie goodies flocking to them and bringing conflict into the rp from their prescence.

Make sense?

Psst, and there is a temple to Gruumsh in the Orc Caves. Paws/Bharg Worships there (on the rare occasion I sign onto him)

I know about that temple. =P But my orc character would love a Temple in which all can safely come to pray to Gruumsh, the almighty one-eye.

And aye, I meant IC illegal. As in, would it be against Baldur's Gate's/Beregost's/Candlekeep's laws?

Worshipping/preaching a chaotic-evil orc-diety in the middle of the street and getting away with that? I can't speak for CK and Beregost but that would sure get you in trouble in the area in and around Baldur's Gate(farmlands) - and i don't think it would be much different in those other two civilized areas. RP-wise the Flaming Fist is engaged in a constant fight against the orcs to keep the threat low.

So i would do as Steel suggested and stick to the wilderness if you intend to do so and keep an eye out for the "do-gooders".

Well, ultimately, it's my character, who is an Orc... So we'll see what happens. Lol. I do like palying him because of the conflict it brings, and I've even had "do-gooders" defend him because it's "his right to free religion"... Because BG is totally the United States and they definitely have a constitution. But I don't mind, it's interesting rp nonetheless.

Thanks for the answers, you guys.
