Appearance: Tall and slender, this female walks with a confidence that speaks of her lack of experience or self proclaimed superiority. She wears a circlet fashioned after a spider with a majority of the legs wrapping around her head. Her eyes sparkle like freshly cut rubies in the darkness and a smile is plays across her lips most of the time, like there is some joke that no one else seems to know. Other than her smirk, she seems to lack emotion until she is angered or enforces Lolth's will.

Personality Profile: Like most drow, she believes she is better than the others, looking down on inferior races and expecting those beneath her to tremble in her wake. Openly, she is easy to anger and quick to punish those that she believes deserves it. Secretly, though, she enjoys studying those beneath her that she deems unique.

Background: Valissmi grew up in one of Ched Nassad's house Thaeyalla. Determined to increase its own power, Thaeyalla's matron had adopted Valissmi and pushed her through Arach-Tinilith. During her time withi this house, Valissmi led several raids on Ched Nasad's neighbors, maintained patrols of the surrounding tunnels and caverns, and participated on a few expeditions to the surface. She brought great glory to Lolth and honor to House Thaeyalla. The matron's children became jealous of the young drow's accomplishments and promise and schemed to remove her.

Several plots were foiled, and over time, Valissmi watched as her house slowly fell from favor. She continued to lead her patrols and raids until she crept closer to the end of her first century. Her matron had learned of powerful artifacts hidden away in some Netherese ruins and demanded that she have them to aid in moving up the ranks. The matron began preparations to send her eldest daughter and Valissmi with three hundred drow warriors and a dozen wizards in search of the ruins. Valissmi knew this expedition would bring about Thaeyalla's doom. Finding the ruins was easy, but the drow war party grew restless as the wizards attempted to gain entry.

Valissmi scouted the tunnels just outside of camp for the perfect place to lay her trap. She knew which direction her sister would flee should anything threaten her life, and Valissmi knew it was only a matter of time before her agents began to fight one another. Just as she planned, fighting broke out throughout the camp. Valissmi waited patiently with one of the drow wizards for her sister to flee into the cave she had picked, and only a few hours into the battle, Baltana attempted to sneak through Valissmi's trap. The wizard unleashed her spell to paralyze the priestess. Valissmi smiled as she moved up against Baltana and told her how she was to be a sacrifice for the Spider Queen. The ritual went smoothly, what with Baltana unable to fight back, and afterwards, Valissmi struck the wizard down with her mace.

The young drow priestess, alone outside a Netherese ruins, eventually found her way to nearby Sshamath.
