Background:
Born in a small fishing village in Shou Long, Reiko's family had migrated from Kozakura when her father Daigo got into trouble with a local Yakuza outpost in his hometown. Reiko lived a simple life with her parents, learning how to wield a blade from her father and how to paint from her mother.

When she was 21, a man her father once slighted back in Kozakura came to their village, now a underworld boss in his own right. The man, referred to as Boss Ken, demanded money and repentance from her father, who had grown ill and was unable to defend himself. Reiko valiantly stood up for her father, scaring the man across his right cheek. Boss Ken responded by burning their small home to the ground, forcing her and her mother Nami to watch as her father remained inside.

Reiko and her mother were taken back to Kozakura where they were forced to slave under Boss Ken's gang. Due to her mother's intervention and her decent skill with a blade, Reiko's purity was spared and she was made to work as one of Boss Ken's enforcers, picking on peasants and the weak alike.

Reiko spent nearly 2 years working for Boss Ken, gaining his trust while plotting her mother's escape and her revenge, and the time had finally come. Left alone with Boss Ken, Reiko got the drop on the man and slit his throat. Absconding with her mother, the two ran to the pier where their boat to the west awaited. Barely making it to the pier, her mother sacrificed herself to allow her to make it to the boat safely.

Goals:
Reiko wishes to find peace, somewhere on the coast where she can relax and enjoy her surroundings. However, she is certain that her actions in Kozakura have not been forgotten, and that assassins could get the drop on her at any time. So for now, her only goal is to be able to defend herself and find a place where she can call home.

Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts:
-Hired assassins could occasionally make attempts on Reiko's life, or to capture her and return her to Kozakura to face the Yakuza.

-Reiko is cautious to strangers. She speaks few words, and those spoken are rather soft. She rarely provides her name in fear of being found by potential pursuers
-Reiko befriended a moon elf dancer, an exotic beauty from the Moonshae isles who lived within Boss Ken's complex as well. She was able to learn Elven from the woman over the course of a year.
