Background:

As he describes it, Alnar was raised in a society scholars. Though, he was an odd man out, having neither divine insight or command of the weave. Thus, he contributed though training and martial skill, as an adventurer and archaeologist - venturing to odd ends of the earch in search of esoteric knowledge and lore to retrieve and preserve.

For some years, he has served as a Warrior Poet. Martial skill blended with refined and sharpened intellect, with the insight it brings. A sort of odd reflection of a bard, his isn't the place to spread tales and inspiration, so much as documenting nuanced truths and ensuring that notable knowledge isn't lost. It isn't enough to simply wield the blade, there is an art every bit as nuanced as the arcane, to be explored and known.

It is his place, his task, to explore the world he cannot change in the stead of those who can alter it at their whim. There is something in it to be known that spellcasters would not see, and it is his role to express it, in art and blade.

Personality Traits:

Alnar expouses a freedom of information and despises the restriction of knowledge - feeling that it is functionally little different than destroying it. He isn't exactly a crusader against evil, but will generally opt to do good over evil.

He does not disdain those that simply do not know better, but makes a point to lance at people who act poorly - but should know better. With the unfortunate reality of knowledge being a limited resource, he does not appreciate those who squander it.

Outspoken, sometimes brash, yet particularly civil and tact when called for. Alnar wields his mind and tongue much as he wields his rapier. Striking with precision and always cutting deep.
