Template For Character Creation Reward:
First Name: Herne

Appearance:
Herne is old, but not feeble. His fair is getting white, and his face is wrinkled, but he walks straight and his body is trying it's hardest to retain the lean build he has years ago. However, he doesn't mind walking with his staff in hand, when he is walking very long distances. He usually wears his robes with his spellbook and scrolls attached to his belt. Occasionally he will put a hood or hat on, if it's too sunny or rainy outside.

Background:
Herne stayed in Silverymoon, all the way in the North. He was a man with a good heart, in a peaceful city. Life wasn't too hard on him. He would earn his money by inscribing scrolls for the many spellcasters that could use it there, or by tutoring hundreds of young upstarts both in and outside the city.
One day, he purchased a spellbook from a merchant that came from the south. The book was originally from Highhedge. Days passed and Herne studied his new book, until he came across a page that didn't fit well with the rest of the pages at all. As soon as he turned over the page, he could see the strange symbols starting to slowly light up. Smelling trouble, Herne quickly casted a protection from alignment on himself, and as soon as he finished, was blasted away by the force of a demonic figure getting summoned from the spellbook. The horned devil, rippling with muscle and demonic magic, stretched itself as if he was trapped in a small cage for years. He saw Herne trying to recover himself near the wall, and laughed at him.
The demon picked up the spellbook from the floor, and started draining Herne's life essence. Helpless, Herne just screamed in agony, until soldiers, spellguards, and clerics bursted inside his home. The demon, realizing he was outnumbered, casted a demonic gateway, and escaped.
If Herne didn't cast his protection spell, he would have been dead. Instead, all of his arcane abilities were drained, and he was exhausted beyond imagination. The clerics helped him on the spot, and the guard was asking just what the hells was going on. Herme explained them what he saw, and the guards immediately left to find the merchant who sold him the book, but he was nowhere to be found.
After regaining his strength (but not his magic), he was told to get to the bottom of this, and find out what happened. Even if he wasn't told to do so, he would do it anyway. Herne gathered his tools, put on his robe, and left via the southern gate...
