It is incredibly rare that Desrah will actually put thoughts to paper. In those rare moments that she actually does so, I'll be posting here. Other times I'll simply be sharing images, thoughts, songs and small rp posts to give relevant insights when appropriate. I will not be revealing any plot twists, secrets, and/or meta information that could prove detrimental to rp in these pages.

The first light of dawn had only just broken over the horizon. All was quiet at the Inn
as Desrah woke, her attention immediately drawn to the whispered sound of another's breath..
Glancing over she gave pause. Amber hues coming to rest over the peacefully still, masculine
form beside her as he slept easily after a long, exhausting night..

With a hand pressed to the mattress she slowly, carefully, pushed herself up with
only a small wince of pain from the wound in her chest, to seat herself beside him.
Amber hues fell gently on the massive man to her side as a whispered, near silent chuckle
escaped her. She had been here so many times before. Not with this man.
Or perhaps even in this Inn. But here, in this moment. That moment, the morning after,
when everything felt new, promising..That moment, that was the first of many down the
path to that inevitable next heartache, betrayal..

He was amazing. This man. Tall, muscle laden, tan and with a silver tongue that could flatter
and facilitate smiles for days on end.. But it was a long way from appreciating a handsome
face to, well.. anything of true substance.. A bittersweet smile found way to her lips, touched
her eyes, as she looked down over this man.. In truth, she couldn't begin to fathom where
this might go.. if anywhere at all.. What she did know, without need for question, or fear.. was
that in the here and now.. this man.. eased her pain.. calmed her nerves.. and gave her
something to feel.. beyond the wound in her chest and betrayal's scar in her heart.. For that..
she would keep this man around for now.

What would come to pass in the months.. years ahead of them..
was one more mystery for the Trackless to unfold..

Dawn had only just broke over the horizon.
Few in the Shore remained within the warm confines of their beds
as many bustled on the docks below, loading cargo and preparing for
the voyages before them. Shouts and curses were prevalent on the docks..
Though the sounds of the wind and ocean drowned out most of the dockside din
that would have otherwise reached her notice high above the shore..

There was much that held Desrah's eyes to the horizon this morning. So many
tangled emotions and unsettling thoughts, it was a wonder she'd slept at all the night
prior. Within a day she'd let go of a crew mate she'd not wanted to release from duty,
learned the betrayer had fallen, and had another make unforeseen intentions known.

Of the first, her heart ached. He'd been a friend. He'd confided in her that which he'd not
confided in his own kin. He'd been there. been support. And now he was not only gone, but
he had the look of hurt, perhaps even anger in his eyes as he walked away from her. She
understood his discord, perhaps all too well. She knew what it was to be judged by the
actions of others. In fact, she knew exactly what it was to face loss over actions not your
own. She'd only just recently had a dagger in her chest by this man's very brother for just
that, and it was for that betrayal that she'd been instructed to dismiss him from the crew.


Of the second, she was numb. No joy nor relief, nor sense of justice came with the news.
There was nothing, where once there had been everything. Simply a void. A wound that,
unlike the physical, may never heal..

The third was something she needed to take slowly, as much with her mind as with her
heart. As much with the approval of her brothers as with herself. This.. this was the first
true beam of sunshine after a very dark and forbidding storm.. and this.. was her lifeline.

Warm is the sea
As I look now beyond your bow to gaze upon the small vessel beneath the twilight.
Calm are the tides
As seafoam but ripples atop the vast saltcellar.
At peace is my soul
As that caring embrace and tender kiss caress my memory.

My Selune's light ever shine upon the Wanderess as she makes her way to Calimport.
May she find calm waters at her fore and a steadfast breeze from her aft. May she and
her crew find their charge and return to us safely... Aidan; my best friend, my first mate..
be safe. Be ever diligent in your work and sail with ease, my friend, knowing you make both
your Captains proud.

May the Gods protect and keep you
Until you are returned
Safely home.

When all that was, is no more.

Vivid is the memory that's washed ashore anew upon the tide.
Vibrant images of a ship long sailed. Waters so long ago traversed.
Terrifying. Invigorating. Breathtaking.

On this day, no truer words do ring.

Doleful Solitude.
Darkness, deep inside.
Broken only by Selune's grace.
Moon and Veil.
Shadows abound.
I look to the sea. And wonder.
Where? Why?
My heart weeps.

Nightmares return.
Eyes watch. Blame. Accuse. Twist.
Faces blur. Fade to darkness.
I gasp for Breath.
Smothered by Guilt.

"Be strong. My Captain."
Before all others.
Another's voice reminds, echos in memory.

Bared weakness. Fear and pain.
Laid before Selune.
Arms embrace only self, without comfort.
A life again absent of dulcet whispers.
Without mask or facade.
Soul raw.
Heart torn asunder.

"Selfish in grief"
Those words echo.
Another's grief.
Entrenched in sorrow.Loss.
Selfless I find myself.
Aching to comfort.
Betraying secrets untold. Kept. Guarded.
Risks taken.
Caution thrown in the hopes of bringing
even the slighest measure.
Self betrayed, while lost in blue.


Along the breeze of sea,my whisper is carried
to he of salt.

"Come home"
"I've not the strength alone."
