What's in that roll?

Unread post by OXHawkXO »

No, I'm not looking for your favorite egg roll recipes!

What I am looking for is how the game handles the rolls of the die. Let's say you just rolled a new character. You head to the graveyard and start fighting the undead there. What would that roll look like on paper?

Thanks

Not sure if this is what you're Looking for, but I'll give it a shot...

The game is simulating a to hit roll like in pencil and paper dungeons and dragons. In pnp you roll a 20 sided die and add your attack bonus. If you meet or beat the opposing armor class you hit. If you roll a natural 20 you automatically hit (but still have to roll again to confirm the critical)...so if the skeleton in the graveyard has an ac of 14 and you have an attack bonus of 4 you hit the skeleton on a roll of 10 or better. A long sword has a critical threat of 19/20. So if you roll a 19 or 20 you roll again and need to roll a 10 or better to score the critical hit. Hope that helps. Happy gaming
