Edwin Melvar & Jonas Chalke

So this is a combined backstory/bio for a start of the adventure for me and my buddy who's new to bgtscc.
Edwin Melvar, a hopeless gish and Jonas Chalke, a daggercasting warlock.

Edwin Melvar and Jonas Chalke were members of a mercenary company called Ricare's Hounds who were in the area on a mission. They were here to kill a few local farmers who got fooled into forming a Bhaaal worshipping cult.

Since Jonas was quite unlikable and Edwin quite incompetent, they were selected to be the forward scouts in the hopes they’d get killed off, which would save everyone a whole lot of trouble.

As they "skillfully and silently" approached the cultists camp Edwin tripped on his robes and alerted the cultists to their position, who promptly took the two “scouts” captive, bound them and started planning on making the pair a ritualistic sacrifice. While they were locked up in a pig pen Edwin, while hallucinating due to dehydration, took a liking to a pig and was convinced that it was in fact his familiar, since he was in fact a famed sorcerer!

After enough time had passed the Ricare's Hounds company decided that their scouts were probably dead, so they, happy to be rid of the two, raided the camp and killed the cultists. They somehow managed to not hear the screams for help over the sounds of battle and pigs, locked in a pen with them. When the dust settled Edwin and Jonas were the only two survivors left among the pile of dead cultists... and pigs. The pigs were still there.

Jonas skillfully, after an hour, managed to get the two out of their bindings, him being a skillful rogue after all. The pair of course promptly proceeded to claim the spoils of war! Amongst the cultists they found some writings on the cult of Bhaal, which they due to wanting revenge on the company's captain, found quite appealing. Thus they decided to adopt this new religion and in Bhaal's name slay their old captain! After of course becoming more powerful! Well… less useless at least. Edwin grabbed the pig and they were on their way.

The pair took a job of clearing the local graveyard of the undead. Jonas was doing well enough but Edwin was quite hopeless, so after being bashed one too many times by the skeletons he decided to throw away his staff and in fact purchase a suit of heavy armor and forget his sorcerous ways. Jonas also thought it was time for improvement and is currently in fact, trying to sell his services to a lower planes dwelling denizen for powers of... *sigh* who knows what...

Long story short, that is how began the story of two lost souls seeking revenge in a most unwise manner.
