Physical Description
Isaiah is a young human man, with Netherese origins. He is around nineteen years old, stands at roughly six feet, two inches, and weights around one hundred and ninety pounds. His skin is fair, pale almost, denoting a life spent indoors. His eyes are icy blue, and his hair is as black as night. He keeps his hair cropped short, though, it seems no expert barber was ever used, as his hair is cut roughly, and uneven. Despite this, he keeps his hair combed, and makes his best attempt to keep himself neat. His body is well-toned, and muscular, a sign that he takes care of himself. His body is marred by several whip-scars on his torso, arms, legs, and back, and the seal of a dragon swallowing its own tail branded on his cheek. His entire neck is also encased in an iron collar, which only appears to have a hinge. Upon a closer examination, it appears that the collar is fused to his skin.
As far as attire goes, Isaiah usually wears form-fitting full plate, which is made of tight, interlocking plates. Under this armor, he wears a lighter chain shirt, and under that he wears a comfortable lair of simple linen and cotton clothing. He usually favors darker colours on his armor, and his clothing alike. He carries a sword at his side, sheathed, which appears to be made of molten steel, yet it feels cool to the touch. Its pommel is adorned with a dragon’s head and neck curling around the hilt, which seems to be swallowing the blade from its base. At the very back of the hilt, and on the dragon’s eyes, little ambers are adorned along the blade. Isaiah also wears several satchels on his back, which carry food, water, rope, chains, bits of cloth, manacles, and other miscellaneous items.
History
The Rogue Son:
Isaiah was born in Halruaan, to a Netherese family, in a small village near the border of the country. From his early ages, he was quite in touch with the weave, and could cast his own, inherent, magic. His father and mother eventually became aware that he was a Favored of Selune, the goddess of the moon, but they spoke not of it, and sheltered him away for fear the church would take their only child away from them. Isaiah was resentful of his constant “imprisonment”, and eventually figured out how to break out of the house, quickly gaining a rebellious streak. He would often sneak out at night, and break into other houses around the village, his inherent magical talents aiding his skill as a burglar. After a couple years of this behavior going undiscovered, Isaiah became a bit arrogant, and broke into the house of an individual with a bit more security that he could handle. He was discovered, and as it happened, the individual whose house he had broken into was a priestess of Selune. She figured out what that his magic was a blessing from her goddess, and brought him back to his parents. He was offered a choice by the priestess, stay with his parents, or come with her to the church, to learn the ways of Selune. After years of being cooped up in his child-hood, Isaiah was not hesitant at all to leave his family, and go with the priestess to the temple of Selune, in Halruaan’s capitol city of Halarahh. Though, Isaiah still felt for his parents, he stayed with them for a month to say his good-byes, and by the end of the month, he said his tearful farewells, and went with the priestess, whose name was Johanna, and he travelled off to Halarahh.

Willing Test Subject and Champion:
Isaiah arrived in Halarahh with Johanna, and upon arriving at the temple, he was treated with seemingly open arms. Isaiah settled down in the temple, and almost instantly, his training began. He was pushed, hard, in his training, the various priests and priestesses training him constantly, his only real reprieve being sleep. He was treated like a curiosity, and it seemed to bother Isaiah quite a bit, but Johanna would always come to his chambers at the end of the day, and reassure him that what he was doing was good, and would benefit both him, and the church. Neither she, nore any of the other priests told him that they believed he was a Favored of Selune, and he was just under the impression his abilities were inherent arcane arts he was being taught to hone. Isaiah was also subjected to many experiments, having his blood taken from him and examined by a priest, and having numerous divination sessions with different priests and priestesses. Some of the experiments were painful for him, some exhausting, some easy, but every day Johanna would come to him, and dispel any doubts that laid in his mind. Eventually, Johanna came to him, and told him that the clergy wished to charge him with a sacred quest, that he needed to go to Thay and retrieve a magical tome, which the clergy had seen in a collective vision they had all shared. Johanna was announced to be coming with him, and he gladly accepted her company, both of them growing quite fond of each other. Isaiah saw her as a sibling that he had never had, and a better parent that his original parents were. After saying his good-byes to the clergy, and packing his bags, Isaiah and Johanna left Halruaan, and travelled north, to Thay.

A Small Betrayal:
Isaiah and Johanna travelled across The Northern Wall, though the Shaar, and Mulhorand, arriving at Thay with relatively little consequence. They disguised themselves as travellers, looking to sell magical artifacts, and set out looking for the tome. They met with their contact in Thay, a Halfling named Flint, whom only spoke dragonic, and claimed to be raised from a baby by dragons. For several months, they searched with Flint for the tome, and avoided the detection of the Red Wizards. Isaiah eventually ran afoul of the local guards within Nethjet, the city where Isaiah, Johanna, and Flint were basing their search. Isaiah was captured, and upon trying to escape, he unleashed a powerful firestorm upon the guards. This garnered the attentions of a local Red Wizard, whom was of the Divination School. She scryed upon Isaiah’s location, and discovered him and Johanna speaking of their mission to find to tome. The Red Wizard, whose name was Yulana, sent guards to find Isaiah and Johanna while they slept during the night, led by her Thayan Knight, Gargos, and one of her Thayan agents. When Gargos and the battalion guards discovered Isaiah and Johanna, they were already unconscious, poisoned. Sitting on their bodies was Yulana’s agent, the Halfling Flint.

The Agony of Hatred:
Isaiah was separated from Johanna, and placed in a cell, tied up to a chair. He was given minimal food and water, and the Thayans, led by Yulana, began the process of breaking him down. They tortured him, they kept him just on the edge on starvation and dehydration, they kept him weak. Day by day, his will broke down along with his body, the sheer agony he was in driving him mad. He remained unable to escape, unable to even sob his nights away due to the lack of fluids in his body. He lasts several years, his captors building him up and breaking him down constantly, before his will snapped, and he gave in completely to his tormentors, becoming a slave to Yulana. As a final act to prove to him that he had no control, he was placed under a dominate spell, and Flint gave him his sword. Isaiah walked into the cell where Johanna was being held captive, sword in hand, and he was powerless to stop his body from obeying its puppeteers. In a few short sword strokes, Isaiah had cut off Yulana’s arms and legs from her body, and was made to watch her bleed out. This, seemingly sealed the deal to him. He gave the sword back to Flint, and the spell was lifted from him. Isaiah fell to his knees, and for the first time in months, he offered a prayer to Selune. Selune seemingly answered his prayer, and cursed Flint’s sword with sentience. Flint raised his sword, and proceeded to strike down Yulana, while her back was turned, slaying the rest of the Thayans, before pointing the sword at his own neck, and stabbing it down into his own neck, piercing into his lungs and heart. Isaiah took the sword, and shambled out of the compound. None of the guards seemed to notice him at all, and after he left, he was greeted by a ship-master, who clothed him, and took him onto his ship. The ship-master then wordlessly locked him into the cabin, and left to man his ship.

Sea of Knowledge:
Isaiah spent five years locked in that room, receiving plenty of food and drink, as well as books. He devoured the books told, knowledge of the world, of the different countries, planes, and wilds. He was given animals in the room from time to time, and he gradually build up his combat prowess, eventually defeating a wolf with his bare hands. Five years into his trip, he was physically fit again, but his body and mind were still marred from the event. Isaiah was no longer the free spirit that he once was, he is bound in his own torment and his own loss. He strives on yet, a spark of hope glimmering in his soul from that one answered prayer, which saved his freedom and his life. Later that year, the cabin door is finally opened, and he is thrown onto the docks of Roaringshore, along with Flint’s sword, the sword that saved him, to start a new life.
