Humans are funny creatures. Really funny creatures. And selfish. And arrogant. But it's okay: they're young still. They still haven't gotten past simple things like their differences. Odd creatures.

It's one thing for there to be ancient, Ancestral Hatred between different races. The Elves and the Orcs, the Dwarves and the Orcs....come to think of it: Orcs just piss off everybody don't they? Maybe it's their table manners? Maybe it's the whole "Raid and Pillage" thing? I'm sure there's some logical explanation. Ironic that Elves hate the Orcs....they used to be the same race. But SHHH!! Don't tell them that. Not that they'd believe me if I did.

But aye, I saw the funniest thing the other day. Two humans were arguing outside of the Friendly Arm. Pfft. I guess it's not so friendly after all, am I right? Who am I talking to? Oh nevermind..

ANYWAYS! I see these two humans arguing. One of them is white-skinned, a Dalelander. The other is a Chultan, with black skin. The dalelander then proceeds to berate this man, and then insults him by remarking the color of his skin! I don't remember the racial slur he used. I think it rhymed with "Trigger." At first I thought he was commented his marksmanship...apparently i was wrong. So if course the Chultan and the Dalelander break out into a fist-fight right there on the road! The guards were able to put it down quickly, however, but the whole event left a sour taste in my mouth.

Why do we humans differentiate between one another by the simple things like Religion or the Colors of our skins? Aren't we all Humans? Aren't we all the same? We are all identical, biologically. We all have the capacity to reproduce with one another. We all have the same fundamental society, and we are all still mortal beings.

The Elves discriminate against their Dark-Skinned brethren. So do the Dwarves. "Drow" and "Duergar" they call them. Their hatred for their dark-skinned kin is understandable however: The Illythiiri Tribe made deals with Demons during the Crown Wars. The Duergar....hmm...you know, I don't know exactly how exactly the Duergar came to war with their surface kin. This may take some research. Perhaps I'll ask them. Assuming they don't scream at me and try and hit me with sharp things.

But yes, this HUMAN discriminated against another Human...for the color of his skin! How screwed up is that?

Bah...I just don't get people sometimes.
