Appearance:

Clearly of advanced years, this small man stoops over a worn staff and walks with a slow hobble. His hair and beard are pure white. Despite this his eyes are still a bright green and his tanned skin remarkably shows no wrinkle or sign of the aging apparent in the rest of his body. He speaks with an accent from the far North. He is usually accompanied by a large white canine, whose breath seems to chill the air around him.

Personality Profile:
Quercus generally has a sunny disposition on life despite his ailments. He will complain about 'aching bones' and 'young laddies and lasses' running around too fast for him to keep up. He is physically weak but mentally sharp and also rather charming in a rustic kind of way once in dialogue. He is in love with forests and most at home there, where his mood noticeably lightens and he 'forgets' about his aches and pains. Conversely, he finds large towns and cities claustrophobic and stuffy, and is much grumpier there, or underground where he cannot 'feel' the connection to nature.

General Health: He has a poor constitution and will get sick easily. His physical form seems to have aged rather rapidly as well so he easily gets tired and develops aches and pains.

Weapon of Choice: If he has to he will use a sling which he couldn't hit the side of a barn door with. Once able he will always wildshape if he needs to fight. He is very comfortable taking on the form of another and his strength when wildshape seems to contrast markedly with his weak 'true' form.

Background:

His earliest memory is of being surrounded by nature and woodland spirits (pixies, sprites, fey) and feeling protected and nurtured. He grew up in the wilds of the forests near Icewind Dale and has no memory of any parents. If anyone asks how he managed to survive this he would simply smile and say 'clearly I did laddie'. He probably would have lived out his life there but the forests he called home were stripped and burned by marauding barbarians on one of the many raids they regularly visited upon the local population. Now he is something of a wandering vagabond but happy enough, especially when he finds more forested beauty to behold.

His heritage is somewhat of a mystery. The only clues to his celestial bloodline are ears which are usually hidden under all his hair and his tanned ageless skin. He says he got the tan from so much time outdoors but this seems implausible when he hails from such a cold region. He has a great affinity with fey and unknown to him also has some fey heritage (that or he was 'blessed' by the fey in some way [will take all the fey heritage feats when he can including fey skin]).

Goals:
(i) Protect the wilderness (especially forests) and natural creatures.
(ii) Aid any in need who are being persecuted or otherwise treated badly by those with destructive intent.
(iii) Develop his wildshape abilities to their fullest potential
(iv) Discover his connection to the fey
