Praise for Luna and this Server

Unread post by Steve »

I do not wish to appear unappreciative to what this Server has to offer, and as well, my appreciation for all that Luna has done in terms of investment and his general good-natured self with quirky humor. BGTSCC provides a unique gaming experience, on a varying scale of pleasure, for so many, and for so long. That alone is testament to its greatness, even when at one moment of another, it hiccups or coughs.

Any of us that have been on BGTSCC for 5+ years know that the Server would not be here if it wasn't for Luna. That is a HUGE Role to have. Intense. You gotta be able to balance it, or....

I have been waiting for some time for Luna to make a public statement, about their position in relation to the recent/current BGTSCC. Then, I could offer my support for their decision—whatever that would be, may still be—and to thank them for all that has come before. I could literally go on and on about how many cool things Luna did that directly affected my greater enjoyment of NWN2 and this Server. But many of us are old enough already...and not getting younger!

And that gets to the heart of it: the Server moves at its own clock, and our Real Lives move at another. To Luna, to whomever...if the Server, the Game, interferes with what is Real and Important in this World—Family, Friends, Profession—then, let the Game fall behind you, and move forward in great and fulfilling ways. Dial it back, or more. No one should disrespect this, and actually, it is strength to do so.

So again, thank you Luna for making BGTSCC a long lasting source of enjoyment and entertainment for me—as well as a bit of suffering...but we won't go into that  —and I'm happy to see you finding ways to share your wealth of information and wealth of responsibility with others, even if it took a damn long time to realize. The Community that has formed around BGTSCC owes you a lot, and I hope you realize that any of us would be honored to have you RPing with us, IG, whenever time and space would allow it.

But no more DMing...I'm tired of having you send me to the Fugue, then log off cause it's late in your timezone!!!!

And this goes for all the other Staff and especially the Devs: You have built some great things, and still, to this day, I find great enjoyment and surprise in discovering the World you have built, that satisfies my personal need for Forgotten Realms, D&D fantasy fun. Seriously, I still find new things, and I go: wow. Thumbs up.

Can I get a witness?!?

+1 for me, though I wasn't around for the "glory days" having only found the server a short time ago, relatively speaking so haven't interacted with Luna. Great post Steve!

My interactions with luna have always been very positive. He/She/Cyborg Overlord has always been very resonsive to suggestions. The fact that this server is still going strong almost 10 years after NWN2 was released is testament to Luna and the rest of the staff. You guys do great stuff and we appreciate it all.

Luna is a legend, no doubt about it.

While I don't personally play on the server anymore, my time spent building for the server was assisted significantly by Luna's helpful and guiding hand. To be fair, if it wasn't for Luna, I wouldn't have spent as long as I did on the dev team. He was always supportive of my ideas and more often than not hastily incorporated my areas onto the server, which I appreciated.
So thanks Luna.

Thanks everyone out here. Been playing nwn1/2 for plenty of years now and without you the fun would have faded long time ago

+1 for all that was said. While I have had my ups and downs on this server one thing I could always look to is Respectful Staff members to turn the tables for me, Luna being a great help behind it all. Thank you to our wonderful Staff.

As for the Dev team, STOP SLACKING!!!

Just kidding, The amount of content you all have pushed out I was telling my friend the other day that if the devs had the time to put in on the server, then we might just have all the monsters from NWN1 in the tool set. Regardless the amount of Classes/spells/areas Created are outstanding and make this server what it is.

Thank you Luna, and thank you development team, for creating this safe haven from an otherwise very hectic RL world. On many a Saturday morning, sometimes I log into the farmlands and stand in the cornfield and it's just so serene to stand there and look around. Like plugging into the happy place, even if just for a couple/few hours.

And thank you Steve for starting this thread. Kudos are beyond well deserved.

+1 to that. When I come home from work and can chill out online with my friends it is quite the stress relief. On a difficult day, that is what gets me though sometimes. Cannot emphasize my gratitude enough.
