Are steadfast determination's rolls correct?
I was in a combat today in the gnoll cave and my PC rolled a fort save which came up as failure on a natural 1. Thing is, I have Steadfast Determination. I am not sure what the spell was or what the gnoll shamans use, but is there a chance this isn't working as intended? Or is it just a display bug and the spell's effects were resolves as if the save was successful?

Did the lasting cold effect remain on your character?

Even with steadfast, I believe you need to beat the DC.
Did you beat it on that roll of 1? It's the first thing to rule out.

You need to beat the DC. Even if you do while rolling a 1 the save will prompt as failed. Your char doesn`t suffer the negative effect though.

I did beat the DC guys, it's on the screenshot. And yes, there was an ongoing cold damage effect along with the ice-visual covering my pc for a few rounds afterwards.

Assuming it`s the creeping cold spell.
"The subject takes 1d6 cumulative points of cold damage per round (that is, 1d6 on the first round, 2d6 on the second, and 3d6 on the third). Only one save is allowed against the spell; if successful, it halves the damage each round."
You will get a failure on a 1 wether you have steadfast or not. But with steadfast the game acts as if you managed the save.

Thanks, that's all I wanted to know. Bonus points to explaining the spell and the situation at handduracele wrote:You will get a failure on a 1 wether you have steadfast or not. But with steadfast the game acts as if you managed the save.

Oh, I was almost sure that the successful save on that removed the lasting effect. Or was that the similar fire spell?
