I just wanted to real quickly share this with the community here, because most of us have a pretty big Internet footprint, and it's important for us to be careful about who gets to see our "real life character sheet."
I've seen directly the damage cybercriminals can cause, just to our little community here -- I've dealt or helped others deal with DDOS attacks, account thieves, cases of cyberbullying and stalking, and more in my several years here. Just today someone tried to break into my forum name. (They can have all my PMs, I really don't mind.

Aside from the video and the post -- just to raise awareness and remind everyone to be careful online -- I also wanted to share this really excellent resource about what to do if you or someone you care about is the victim of a cybercrime:
https://staysafeonline.org/stay-safe-on ... cybercrime
The information is largely geared towards a U.S. audience, but a lot it applies outside the States as well (and there's this resource for some, limited foreign-language tips about cyber safety).
And that is all. Just a reminder to be safe online, even here where it hopefully feels pretty safe already. Feel free to ignore this post if you're already cyber savvy -- or just hate public service announcements on sheer principle.
