Update 30th Jan: What Did You Like?

Unread post by Lux »

For us mortals who aren't part of testing and able to sneak a peek at what's being worked on, a lot of the coming updates were probably surprises. I know they were for me. (Then again, I have been known to take vacations under rocks :?) I didn't actually test much but I saw some things I thought were really cool and can't wait to see them live.

Let's name some things that seemed we liked and can't wait to get implemented, unfinished or not! Who knows, maybe they’ll be bug free quicker with some encouragement. ;) At the very least we'll be appreciating people who devote their free time for all of our enjoyment!

Personally I really liked the disguise renaming ability. It will make a disguise that much better. And I can't wait until Hierophant is live!
What we see depends mainly on what we look for

I liked the disguises. I liked the percent finished on the sendings. I liked the skill escape artist. there are a few more but I forgot them.

The language selector, the new spells (though makes the decisions even harder for spontaneous casters, grr), Thaumaturge level 5 addition of Summon spells, ability to turn off light effects on items.

Alot of this stuff was talked about and there was even voting for it a long time ago. (Not that im entirely sure the point of even voting for it...But I digress)

But because I really dont feel like getting into some kind of whiney rant that could go on for hours about what I didnt like and my feelings about it all and the possible future changes that will be coming.

I will just say what I did like.

I liked the thing with removing specific wards/buffs instead of all of them.

Edit: Oh and some of the new spells seemed neat, though there should be a way to purchase scrolls of them in the future. And probably most custom spells.

I liked the new combat system, seems like it will bring some more tactical and a breath of new life to combat.
Can't say much about the spells but the paladin spells for me were pretty lackluster (Some are cool but you would need to make a exclusive caster paladin to take advantage of them but still can be cool in certain situations !)
I really liked the update in general.

Despite there being some bugs that needed to be ironed out, I really liked the the new language selection menu (not having to bother DMs requesting languages your character would normally be able to choose is nice.) and the new spell dismissal system. Being able to remove individual spells would be a huge benefit to the more buff-heavy characters.

Even though the update didn't pan out perfectly this time, thank you Duster47 and Rasael for the hard work you've done for the server and it's updates, it's some pretty amazing work. :)

I liked the buff removal thing. Language selector could be cool once all the big issues are sorted, everything I type being in some weird language makes rp very difficult lol.

Aside from that can't say I liked much else. Yay for the rollback

Well, mostly that caster clerics have finaly got much needed love with a new PRC and proper domains for my more favorite deities. And disguise system, when it works right, would be a big improvement. Cool spells! Didn't get to try much, though.

i liked the idea of more spells for Paladins but the issue is Paladins do get there spells from Wisdom i would have liked to see it play off Charisma a bit more then wisdom...also loved the stat line of the Revenant but i think he needs to be a bit more paladin like then a caster

I liked the idea behind pretty much everything. It's NWN2/2.0, as in MORE of all that DnD goodness. Bugs and glitches happen, and I have full confidence in Duster47, Rasael, and Cubicle(sorry if I missed anyone) to sort things out in time.
They have breathed new life into this server, and all the recent updates from content and areas to bug fixes have been awesome to see. I actually get excited when I have to wait to log in due to updates.

That said, something that really stood out for me was the new melee system. I didn't get to mess around with it in-game, but I've read up on it before. I'm looking forward to when it is ready to go live!

Disguises! Long awaited by many I'm sure. As always, a balance must be found through play, and kinks ironed out, but just seeing it go in is both a happy and frightening thing. hah

New PrC's were all very cool in my opinion. Heirophant and Master Alchemist in particular.
