Candles/Glowing balls/Blankets/Tents/Signs/Bottles and the like.
I honestly and truly feel that the prices on these items should be far less than they are.
These items cost substantially more than some magical potions items and scrolls (Some of which can run as little as 22gp)
These items have -no- mechanical affects that give your pc some sort of advantage over others). All the -do- is create and facilitate RP.
A sign for a guild or asking for help.
A merchant stall bringing people to rp the sale of items or to a cause.
A bunch of candles used in a midnight memorial or holy service.
The true and only benefit these items give us, is RP. Something I believe makes the server as a whole a better place.
While these items can bring about or add spice to the RP experience, far less people are likely to take advantage of their existence on the server, when something as simple as a candle, that might cost you a dollar or less RL, costs four hundred+ gold in game ( I think it's about 405'ish). Then if say, you're thinking about using ten or fifteen candles for a holy service, you're getting into the thousands. So now you're looking at 15 candles for say a holy service or wedding or the like, in game, costing as much as many enchanted items on the auction block.
I am asking for a major and drastic reduction for the cost of these items to mirror their actual physical value, even though their rp value is priceless.
I'm not sure as to why the decision was for such inflated prices, but I think if an expensive drink is 9 gold it's more than reasonable to ask for a candle, or a book not to be so much off.
I wanted to add this to further support my request:
Here is the cost of a candle, per the 3.5 PHB ...
