Total Wizard Spells Script Cap

Unread post by Tsidkenu »

Hi Team!

Given the fact that the spell check script can now be seen at a whim by every wizard every log in and using the Count Spells feature, thus permitting us greater spellbook control, is there any chance the Maximum number of spells allowed in one's spellbook can be increased from 245 to 253?

At the moment the script fires the moment you scribe your 246th spell, cutting you back to 245 immediately. Having an extra 7 spells in the book will help greatly these days with all the new yummies that were added. I think the script should send a warning when you reach 250 spells, and at 254 it culls you back to 253.

If you feel this is cutting it too fine (because we're talking about a bug that crashes the whole server here!) I'd be happy at least to increase it to 250, with the script firing upon scribing one's 251st spell.

On another note, all the new spells implemented in the last update which come from a Cleric's spell book apply against a multiclassed wizard/cleric's spell cap.

Note that while these spells 'count' against the cap on 'paper', they do not cause the server to crash if you log in with 'excess' spells counted from the Wizard+Cleric spell books. I logged in with 273 spells after the Update was first implemented (239 were in the wizard book). The server did not crash either, but Aeili's 'total' spells ended up getting culled back to 245 when she memorized Invisibility for the first time ever after changing her prohibited school!!!

Note that this does not count -every- cleric spell against the wizard cap, it mostly seems to be custom or domain spells that are common to the two classes (eg. domain spells from Magic/Knowledge domains, in Aeili's case). Is there any way for the script check to ignore spell books from every other class except wizard? Pretty please?!
