Biography
Xul'aum (previously Xun'aun) is a drow, previously a member of the House of Helvi'rahel.
He was born and raised by his parents, a drow sorcerer Sorn'erd and a priestess of Lolth Vuziira. Xun'aun is their second child. His older brother left the House, when Xun'aun was very young. After his brother left, Xun knew that soon or later he will become the one, who will be representing the family and who will be ruling the House of Helvi'rahel.
Years passed, Xun'aun was completely concentrated on his training. He was looking for additional sources of power and for the forgotten knowledge. Xun, with help of his parents, found a thiefling agen, who agreed to help him. A powerful thiefling sorcerer was able to leave the underdark, and bring the knowledge from the surface. For the additional payment, he agreed to hire additional surface agents.
His agents were able to visit the Candlekeep Library and to rescribe different books for the thiefling. For a few years, he collected enough knowledge, and used his magic to return to the underdark. After recieving the books, Xun'aun started translating them from common to undercommon. He gained a knowledge, different from the one of the Underdark, and learned alot about kivvils, their nature, habits and magical practices.
During his research, a night after night, Xun'aun have seen the same dream. Everytime, in his dream, he found himself in the place never seen by him before. Under his feet, he has seen a green and long grass. Everytime he tried to look in front of himself, a white flare were blinding him. Instead of looking, he attempted to listen. All what he could hear were screaming people, running for their lives.
Seeing the same dream over and over again, he tried to listen more carefuly, and gain any additional information. After four nights, in his dream he started hearing someone else. Someone, who was not screaming, the one was mumbling something. Clearly, it was a spellcasting. Again and again, he tried to listen and to look in fron of himself to see, what is happening. After two weeks, hes sight became good enough, and he was able to see humanoid creatures running and screaming around him. He was looking around, attempting to find a source of their fear. He heared a spellcaster, but he was not able to see him. After the five weeks, he adapted enough to be not almost blinded bu the sun in his dreams. He was able to look at the sky.
Xul'aun expected to see the sun and the sky (from the books, he knew how it will look like). He has seen the sky, but it was gray, almost black, with the sun shining through the clouds. But it was not the thing that surprised him. Finally, he was able to see the spellcaster, floating around and endlessly throwing his spells. At the firs glance, Xul thought that he is seeing himself, but after a few moments he understood, that it is a different person.
At the end, after destroying the remaining peasants, the mage landed on the ground and said: "Vendui', dalninuk" (I greet you, brother). For the last three nights, the dream was repeating itself, and then its gone. Xun was not able to see the musterious mage any longer.
Xun'aun came to his house, and started gaining information about his brother. Only information he got was that his brother left the house and joined the kivvils. Xun asked his House to raid the surface and to find his brother. When members of the House refused to help him, he asked for a permition to leave, and find his brother by himself. House of Helvi'rahel allowed him to bring his brother back, but only because they want him dead.
Rather than obey, Xun decided to leave House of Helvi'rahel, and attempt to find his brother on the surface. He knew that he will not be allowed to come back. Because of that he changed his name to Xul'aum, and left his past behind.
