In the Fugue!
Alright, this is now second time this has happened to me.. I log out safe and start in the Fugue, last night I logget out in the Nexus, after a reset and when the reset hit I was at the FAI..
First time I took the hit cause whatever, but now.. Second time? C'mon!
Theres obviously something wrong since I keep starting in the Fugue..
Can I get some help?

Re: In the Fugue!
Happend to me too! My theory is when the server crashes, it rolls back to when the server was last stable; if you were standing in a hostile area at that time you get killed and die.
Thats what I think anyway, for me it took place about a week ago after RP in the Friendly Arms, the server lagged and went down; when I went back in I had to take a 1,900xp hit, but thankfully this has only happend once.

Re: In the Fugue!
This has happened to me twice now back to back, first time was after a DM wagner event I went to rest in Wyrms crossing near the Phoenix company lodge, logged in today to find I had to go to mykul so I took took XP hit then after I got to FAI and took a break I rested, logged out. came back after a server reset and find myself being told to visit him again.
I play Medune I think? maybe? probably? I'm not really certain.

Re: In the Fugue!
I'm not 100% sure this is the case, just me theorizing, but did you happen to die during the DM event? If you died and were brought back by the DM rather than a spell or scroll, I think it can bug so that the game didn't think you were rezzed and still flagged you as dead. As for the second one, there seems to be an issue with the server not updating certain things about your character after resets/crashes such as storing your last location, etc. So it may be possible that the server reverted back to your previously stored state which was flagged as being dead. Hence why you had to go back to the fugue.taylorstar wrote:This has happened to me twice now back to back, first time was after a DM wagner event I went to rest in Wyrms crossing near the Phoenix company lodge, logged in today to find I had to go to mykul so I took took XP hit then after I got to FAI and took a break I rested, logged out. came back after a server reset and find myself being told to visit him again.
Maybe the devs can look into this because I know at times I've rested somewhere but when I go to return to my last location after a reset, it was at a previously stored rest spot and not the most recent one. If you did die at the DM event and got flagged as dead because of the DM bringing you back, you might be able to get a refund if you have a screenshot.

Re: In the Fugue!
DMs dont have a special raise, they have every spell in the game tho readily available so when they raise people they are casting the spell as well
on that same note tho, its possible it might have glitched if the person isnt fully loaded into the fugue, however if he was actually brought back out of the fugue thats probably not the case, that one usually causes you to be alive and still stuck in the fugue
but ive said it in a different thread, the death system is really sensitive, apparently even when its not even touched
if its a continued trend im sure it will get looked into tho

Re: In the Fugue!
I had two constitution items on at the time, it actually kinda happened to me a third time. I logged out and after reset I spawned in the nexus with -1hp someone was kind enough to heal me so I didn't die.. I have now had the constitution deleted of one of the items, and it doesn't seem to happen anymore.

Re: In the Fugue!
If they port you out of the fugue instead of casting raise or Rez on the corpse then it can bug to still have you flagged as dead. I've had this happen before. Maybe the issue has been fixed since then. It all depends on how the DM brings them back to the area. During events, things can happen where someone picks up your corpse and they die so your corpse disappears. The DM ports you back into the event but you may still be flagged as dead to the game and go to the fugue on reset.Blackman D wrote:DMs dont have a special raise, they have every spell in the game tho readily available so when they raise people they are casting the spell as well

I actually had this problem after being raised by a DM. Special raise or no special raise, I got killed in an event, got raised by DM, and after server reset I was in the fugue.Blackman D wrote:DMs dont have a special raise, they have every spell in the game tho readily available so when they raise people they are casting the spell as well

Re: In the Fugue!
I think this has something to do with the fact that rests and saves are no longer accurately recording your location. This is a general issue ever since the update and means you can never trust going back to a saved location because the game no longer actually bothers to save your location when you tell it to.
I died about 20 minutes before server reset to a CTD (yay). I rezzed, lost exp and all. Since server was resetting soon, I rested and saved. Server reset. Came back up, and now it's trying to send me back to the Fugue. Of course it saved my exp value, just not my location, so I'd be taking a second exp hit.
It is likely, for people who are getting sent back there, that the game has not recognized any of your saves or rests since you were last in the fugue, and sends you back there because that was the last place it saved your location.
Fix the rest/save functions so that they actually save your location like they're supposed to, and it will likely fix this Fugue bug.

Re: In the Fugue!
ive some several fugue issues and ive had this exact issue as well. this is different from my current thread talking about death due to server crash, ive had this issue as well
yesterday, i died and was rezzed by a party member, we went on to finish want we were doing and retired at the FAI and logged. today when i signed in, i was in the fugue and took a 1200xp hit.
i understand this just happens but i hope there is at least empathy for someone who spends hours RPing and trying to create player driven quests for other, only to have all that xp plus some wiped out.
i almost dont even adventure with my main character, because he is epic and the xp losses are litterally to much to take and recover from.

Re: In the Fugue!
Actually in the past if you ended up in Fugue by accident, Murkyl used to say "oh, wait there was a mistake" after which he would send you back without xp hit. Perhap THAT part of the system broke.Rhifox wrote:I think this has something to do with the fact that rests and saves are no longer accurately recording your location. And yes, "save location by resting" has been very unreliable after updates. It 20% of time, if not less than that.
