Dervish and Scimitar

Considering how thematic scimitars are for dervishes, I'd like to suggest some ideas to make the following pnp ability happen:

Slashing Blades:
A dervish treats the scimitar as a light weapon (rather than a one-handed weapon) for all purposes, including fighting with two weapons.

I can think of these solutions:

1) Script checking for Weapon Finesse and adding Attack Bonus property to the scimitar equaling to EB + DEX - STR. This could also be used to fix Weapon Finesse not working with creature weapons. Additionally, dervish would get Oversized Two Weapon Fighting at level 1 (Problem: Attack Bonus will be added towards +20 AB cap)

2) Implementation of a new (small and light) weapon type requiring weapon proficiency only given by Dervish, adding appropriate weapon focus & specialization line of feats (problem: lots of work, accessibility problem before crafting goes live)

3) Scimitar appearance for kukris. (problem: every kukri wielder could have that appearance)

Would that mean that you cant use power attack with scimitars since they are considered light weapons?

I wish there was a feat that allowed DEX for AB with Longsword or Bastardsword, instead of STR (even if it disabled power attack).

That could ruin existing builds. Both TWF and one handers. I dont see any way implementing scimitars as light weapons for Dervish.

The dervish class is powerful und fun to play as it is - it works well with dex- and str-based builds - no need to alter it at all.

There are some other classes that could really need a buff or some more build choices.

The point of this suggestion was not to make balancing changes to this class, but to enable a lore friendly way to play one. Anyway, I did some digging and it seems it's impossible to implement custom finessable weapons due to the engine limitations.

What about a simple solution like this?
3) Scimitar appearance for kukris. (problem: every kukri wielder could have that appearance)
Or kukris with a scimitar appearance and a class requirement Dervish, available in shops. (An anti-UMD script could also be added)

UMD users will be able to equip those.
They will have different damage dice/critical factor. Kinda defeats the point.
Also, you will not be able to properly customize those.

I would kinda prefer dervish class using a real scimitar.

It might be possible to achieve desired effect by adding some "on equip" script similar to crossbow sniper - which will take two/one-handedness into account and add/remove attack/damage bonuses accordingly.

Should be theoretically doable, but it will be very tricky.
