BG, Palace District Inns & Taverns

Helm & Cloak inn, at least, does not have auto open script inside the room that FAI rooms have (on the floor right next to the door). The "rentable room" doors requires a key to open.

If you would loose the key somehow, eg. walking out of the inn with the script auto-removing the key and your last save is in the room, you'll be stuck in the room.

This happened to me at the risen phoenix in Beregost. Fortunately i was able to pick the lock from the inside and get out as i was not the one who had purchased the key.

I thought about that a while ago and created an unlock trigger for such situations. I do not remember where they exist (it was over a year ago). Anyway, private Inn rooms should have bash-able doors if you do get stuck inside, not outside.

You can always call for help. Getting someone else's attention OOC-wise, plus a key for 10 gold, is much easier than my spending hours sifting through and updating areas at the moment.
