Alright so basically to bounce off of the thread necromancy i did in the rules section, i was hoping i could get some of the DM's to post about half-drow in the realms. The more i look into it the less of a consensus there on the server, rules and lore wise. While half-drow can be in the underdark currently they can only play in the UD. While lore wise there are vastly more half-drow living on the surface, the pvp KOS rules dont mention half-drow at all. Also the racial entry for half-drow in the races of faerun is the most dubious entry in the entire book.
So i was hoping the DM's could discuss this matter with the player base at large, because personally i would prefer a lore accurate representation of half-drow on the server. As it currently stands, its not.

While lore-wise we do acknowledge the existence of surface half-drow (natives of Dambrath), the Half-Drow race in BGTSCC is considered to be an Underdark race for the purposes of the server and rule application.
If you wish to create a character with drow blood, I would recommend you submit an unusual background request of the sort.

Why would a dambrathan halfdrow or any other halfdrow that was born on the surface go to the underdark? And just to clarify this isnt me saying i want to make a surface character that is halfdrow because i have a halfdrow character and have made accomidations to my characters background so i have legit RP reasons to RP in the UD or surface accordingly. And im not going to retcon RP.
Even if halfdrow are considered an underdark race on the server, in the UD setting in faerun they are far less significant than any other race you can play in the UD. Yeah halfdrow are there in the Ud, however in races of faerun it does give you the option of picking the underdark as a region for halfdrow. But its just that, an option that doesnt say all halfdrow must pick the UD as a region.
You say the server acknowleges surface halfdrow but yet you cannot actually play a surface halfdrow even if you play a dambrathan halfdrow you spawn in the UD. So in what way are they actually acknowleged? As in yeah they are there but you cant play one? If that is the case then why would halfdrow nonetheless be lumped into the likes of drow and duergar according to the rules of the server?
A half orc isnt an orc nor are half elves elves, half drow are not drow, not by FR lore or game mechanics. It really does not make sense that half drow are limited to spawn in the UD and are KOS on the surface. Server rules and server lore cannot contradict each other. When it does it makes the lore part represented in an awkward way.
