What do you guys think of the 5e after some extensive gameplay? I personally like it a lot! It doesn't have that bad taste flavor that 4e had.
Sooo, I made a build for a character I'll play for Out of the Abyss, in the 5e.
It's basically a 'grappler'. We're gonna be like, 7 players, and no one knows what the others will be as it goes for classes. So I wanted to pick something no one would pick!
Tell me what you think about it! (I won't put his backstory here, but I totally made one.

Here's the path:
Lvl 1 Barbarian(1), 16 str 14 dex 16 con 10 int 10 wis 8 cha (Human, variant trait with the feat)
Rage (gives advantage on strenght checks)
Feat: Tavern Brawler for the bonus action grapple when I hit an opponent.
Important skill: Athletism
Background: Criminal (Highway robber)
Lvl 2 Rogue (1)
Sneak attack
Expertise (Athletism for a nice +7)
Lvl 3 Rogue (2)
Cunning action
Lvl 4 Rogue (3)
Rogue Archetype: Assassin Or Swashbuckler (I could go Trickster for the usefulness of spells, but mehh.)
Sneak attack
Lvl 5 Rogue (4)
Feat: Mage Slayer
Lvl 6 Rogue (5)
Sneak attack
Uncanny Dodge
Lvl 7 Fighter (1)
Second Wind
Fighting Style Dueling (+2 damage)
Lvl 8 Fighter (2)
Action Surge (In case I miss one grapple)
Lvl 9 Fighter (3)
Battle Master (I think the maneuvers will help more than the champion's critical, to put an ennemy prone with a melee attack, then grappling him in the same round).
Lvl 10 Fighter (4)
+2 STR
The strategy I'll use most of the time is as follows:
Grab an improvised weapon that looks like a dagger and rage, go to an oponent and grapple, then shove him down to have advantage on him, and him disadventage. He can't go back up cause he has 0 movement, and I have +7 athletism with advantage for the grapple checks.
So that with mage slayer will be terribly awesome, especially with the +30 feet move in free action from the rogue.
I know about the feat Grappler as well, but.. it doesn't fit much in this build, as I don't need more advantages. The pin is nice, but a shoved down opponent is preferable for a rogue I believe.
Thoughts?
