ports

What's this with that port switching lately ?

And is there a better way to assign the current ip:port to the nwn2player.ini file. ?
I have to edit it manually and set it to readonly afterwards, otherwise it always gets overriden with the default nwn2 port (5121) sooner or later.

It is to defend against ddos attacks, which we have right now.

Hm. Actually I use direct connect and it never reverts back to the usual port number. Do you use the list sometimes in between? Only then does it revert.

i use a shortcut with +connect to start the game,

Log in on Direct Connect, manually placing in the IP + port. It will never change again, unless you manually retype it.

Or, use the name 'game.bgtscc.net'.

A better method would be using pattern matching via ngrep and blacklisting/action drop those origin IPs instead of this if one's not able to blacklist in the carrier upstream.
