So normally I make my own builds and I'm damn good at it... but I don't know much about this server or the level of gear available and the ins and outs of the feats and what not here yet....
So I'm thinkin' of making a bard build of some sort involving dread pirate since it seems like inspire courage gets the rally the crew bonus added on top of it when you activate inspire courage. Maybe mix in tempest and something else? Would probably dual wield.... not sure if strength or dex based... maybe have swashbuckler levels or duelist levels...
Trying to get a feel for what the AC and AB of some of the more elite builds are like on this server...when I played on DB my main had an AC close to 70 and an AB in the low to mid 60s when fully buffed via UMD as a fighter/dervish/tempest/whirling dervish . I don't want to make a clone of that character... especially since dervish is not as good here. Doesn't get the +4 extra AC while in combat expertise from the ability at 7th lvl called defensive parry there
Also not sure if the two weapon defense feats get their AC doubled while in combat expertise here either.
______________________________________________________________________________
Anyhow TLDR version... looking for a bard/pirate whatever else we mix in , most likely dual wielding? but doesn't have to. Does this server have snow flake war dance for bards?
I'd like to maintain a 26 BAB but if something is amazing and falls short of that, that's ok

And as a sub topic to this topic... Currently I'm playing Leo as some of you might have seen him running around and going with all the sword and board stuff but I haven't actually planned the build out ahead so I'm wondering how effective he is going to be ... I know I already made one mistake... I was distracted by the cool factor of the combat focus feats but now that has worn off I now realize I have 13 wis and combat focus and honestly they are kind of a waste... I gotta spend 3 more feats to get the 4 ab and 4 dmg thing with combat strike and I'm thinking that probably isn't worth the feat investment

Re: Bardy piratey build
Dread Pirate and bard has great synergy, with the rally the crew (or whatever it's called) stacking with inspire courage. That means as a bard8/dread pirate10, you get the same inspire courage as a 26 level bard. So you can potentially go fighter12/bard8/dread pirate10 and have huge AB.
Dread pirate also gets improved two weapon fighting for free at level 6, which means you can get away with lower dexterity. You could then do a dread pirate10/tempest5 with 15 levels of something else (bard8/swash7, maybe?).
Super high AC is going to be more difficult to get, however, as we don't have a lot of bonus AC feats, and definitely nothing overpowered like they apparently have with full kaedrin. But at the same time, our content has quite low AB mobs. For instance, a frost giants in a CR27 area have 29 AB. Their AC is also relatively low, with the highest in the area (except perhaps the frost giant king boss) being 35.

Re: Bardy piratey build
For a beginner here, I suggest you build a pure character (Cleric or FS or Bard) as your 1st -- Let's say gear-hunting build. CL is so important here and make sure your build has more than 28cl (30cl is the best).
If you insist on the bard/DP build, why not go directly to 27bard/3SDD? Your spells won't be dispelled and you can get decent dmg with two weapon fighting and the songs.
If you give up casting, with 8Bard/10DP/4Cleric(water domain)/8XX you can make an EDM two-weapon fighting build. Your pure damage will add up to 3(bard)+3(DP)+14-16(EDM). AB is also good. The good thing for DP is you don't need Dex and get the iTWF for free which makes the EDM dual available. But one thing is TWF with EDM builders are glasses, play with them carefully.

Re: Bardy piratey build
yea not looking to be a class cannon but alright these are some ideas but as far as PvE goes that isn't really a concern of mine as I've always thought PvE everywhere is very easy. You can make a str based wizard and be fine in PvE. I just want to be formidable if it comes to a PvP confrontation.
Now Hiva0A I imagine the cleric in the one example you gave with water domain is for evasion and the 8 XX is just 8 levels of whatever else I want, yea?
I'm just looking to get an idea of some numbers on the folks that are considered some of the strongest in PvP when it comes to AB and AC. Is high 50s for AC pretty much as good as it gets? and I'm guess high 40s to low 50s the best for AB? (talking fully buffed here)
I've also been considering a druid/barbarian buff and fight type character with out forest master or whatever the hell that class was called I don't think that will do that well...
I think this thread is more so going to be just a list of all the builds I've been considering now... @_@ .
Fighter/WM/Zerker/Whirling dervish
bard/DP/etc
druid barb type character
Paladin of some sort (not sure if I wanna deal with paladin RP though)
or some kind of cleric or arcane buff and fight build... I don't see bladesinger/swiftblade or anything that really fits for a arcane gish though. I saw some orc player posting something about clerics with the animal domain getting an animal companion?
If I could play a cleric of Uthgar with an animal companion that is a dire wolf... tell me now and I know exactly what I'll be doing for my character!

Re: Bardy piratey build
Well, I don't think you can win a pvp with a WM or a bard/dp. A pure wizard or cleric or druid or a sneaker can kick your ass even if you fight 100 times with them.
For PvE, I think you need to check the 3 final boss on the surface. The Dragonlich, Balor and the Ice Dragon oh, I forget the easiest one Frost Giant (they all drop 5K gold, lots of chests, considering as the elite bosses and this is all about your income)
As far as I know, EDM Cleric/FS are easiest to solo most of the boss except for the Ice. My friend J006 can do the same thing with a paladin. Besides I heard a bard with only a longsword soloed the Balor. For none casters, I am not familiar with that. One thing is the Balor has around 48-52AB and 30 DMG per hit. He has around 15DR and a decent AC. Just think about how to solo him if you really want to do something by yourself on PVE.
