Ideas for UD RP/Event (long term, weekly)
As I briefly spoke about in game I am planning to host a weekly event for UD players and am currently brain storming ideas for a long term storyline, if anyone has any ideas please share them here. Please try and keep it realistic and fairly light, some UD/surface world may come into the event(s) but it should only be brief and for small interactions with the surface world. The day/time of the weekly event will depend on the players who are intrested, but for now lets focus on brain storming ideas

Soon as I get my laptop I'll join. Big thing with us is large parties, exploration, and tbh rewards. UD is naturally greedy and difficult, and our grinding/exploring is hard. So eventwise new terrain, more emphasis on our RP, high risk is awesome for us. As a drow player the best times I've seen in UD were full of heavy conflict and backstabbing, conflict with other players included. Ruthlessness on the DM side, so if you died or got caught I've seen a dm take all of the Slain gold, barely any xp reward, better luck next time.
Honestly, this is what most ud players expect. Meaningful defeats are nice too. So as a drop player I ask for more exploration missions, find artifacts for a faction, a siege. If there was an event that started a full scale war of UD with a neutral or good faction, and there was risk of running into other PC'S with a defeat punishment I think our playerbase would increase. Bring the entire UD together into each other, motivate us by offering power, allow us to hurt each other and betray. Let our actions actually mean something that the surface would understand too. We are starved of it. As long as every UD player can attend, be true to our nature, and have motivation to continue with our actions reflecting on the server I think the UD will be populated again.

beholder insurgency? ... slave uprisings? ... love the artifact searches ... does not have to be Qu'ellar vs qu'ellar ... common enemy strong enough to force all of sshamath to work together or die one by one? ... tall order i know

could also do small even individual ambushes? contacts? randomly .. causing a bit more ... caution? paranoia?... when exploring or looting

Perhaps some events concerning non drow in the UD would be refreshing as well.
Edit: And what I mean are events that can make some kind of impact on UD environments, nothing realms shaking but something that feels tangible. There are also lots of opportunities for Vhaerunites, svirfneblin, Imaskari, etc. Bregan is a guild steeped in canon lore, House Sshamath and 7th Circle in server lore, interschool politics and warfare with PCs caught in between can give the feel of danger, risk and reward that many players in the UD crave.

Some specific ideas, and Im just slinging here:
-Conclave sanctions the creation/discovery of a new trade route somewhere (for rangers and scouty types)
-Discover the 5 W's about the recent recent earth elemental dungeon and why there is a portal to the elemental plane of earth (great for svirfs or school rp). It would create some server lore behind the new dungeon.
-Lolthites could be tasked with creating more driders for the drider caverns (and maybe even find a drow male pc willing (or unwilling hehe) to be transformed into the new drider npc quest giver in thag area.
-Tower of the Masked Mage stages a coup against Bregan or 7th Circle for trade rights
-If any specialists wizards down there wish a guildhall, that'd be a great and lasting story line as I understand it only Necromancy has a guildhall. A goal for those with and maybe another specialist school attempting to foil it (great for conflict rp)
-wizards could be tasked by the conclave to gather regents by the conclave in order to add more wards to the "mythal". Or they could even do it themselves since Ras introduced that interesting "Guards and Wards" spell.
-Quellar vs Mage School conflict RP
-Duergar PCs could be charged with finding new ore veins for their forged.
-While not entirely Lore accurate, with tfunke's amazing Baator area awaiting to come IG, maybe the Lolthites can use the portal to their advantage by using it for yothlals (in some manner)
-If there are new UD areas awaiting implementation, many goals of exploration, securing and settlement can be sanctioned for PCs to out some lore behind it.
-Eilistraee. Many goals come to mind for that RP hitch.
While I understand this requires players and not all are feasible, maybe this can give some inspiration of some sort.

Refreshing news!
I think it would be great if the plot about the dragonscales and their robbery attemp from the School of Necromancy and the School of Invocation and Evocation can be continued. As well as finding the purpose of the man who wanted to buy them. Some researching/investigation group can be made to find those damned items.
Anyway, whatever RP you decide to take, I'm glad you want to put some love in the UD Lobo. I will be glad to participate in your events with my UD chars. Thank you!

The ooze campaign is over? If not, bring that one to an end.
Agree with the former posters who were lucid enough to write something constructive in this thread.
I personally would like to see action against neutral or good factions too. Doesn't have to be a player led faction. Although it would make things very enticing of course.
Also the Seventh Circle could use some DM led approach to the Zhents again. Also a quick way between these close allies would be welcome. But that is a request for the builders.

Everyone is different, and even if the UD is not a very large place, what players prefere are just as varied as you might find on the surface. You should not take everything here as trugh about what the entire UD would want.
Things that Israe is speaking of would, for example not be something I would like to play. Large parties and fast pace adventures/massacres is something I actively avoid. Just like things I enjoy would probably be considered boring and time wasting to many others.
There is no single way to please everyone. As long as you don't derail people into loss (which have been done), we will probably not hate you. So just do events like you would on the surface, and things will probably be fine.
EDIT: Also, history shows that if we are actively allowed to hurt oneanother and punish, it starts a quick surge of players, and ends just as quickly. Resulting in 6 month of no one playing in the UD since we all hate each others guts. So I am very much against that idea.

I would like to play in the UD, but that's not something I would want, no matter if it's there or on the surface. Call me a snowflake if you like, but I also like the exceptions to the rule, and would find it disappointing if everyone was a predictable scumbag all the time.

I have to second what empowered writes, each player have prefferances as to what they like and its hard to catter to all, but worth keeping in mind.
I havent been in the UD for many years now, but I always found the intrigues to be the most compelling factor. To me a DM interaction via a NPC can be worth a thousand events if done right, it creates an immersive feeling when odd creatures, NPCs or what not is actively interacting with you/your group.
UD is a harsh enviroment and drow are by no means the scariest creatures down there, id be really intrigued by any events that involved cloakers, gloaming, fomorian, derro, kua toa or other of the races that roam the Underdark.

the ooze campaign was put on hold bc we lost our DM for it, but with the rp in it some sort of side attack was expected, so it doesnt particularly need to end for something else to happen however its completion would obviously be nice as well

Thank you everyone for your feedback and ideas
The next thing I need to know is what day time would work for you guys - I know most of you will have different times/days due to time zones and work shifts but this is to get a general idea.
Regarding on the spot events like on the surface;
This is also something I am looking into - assuming anyone is online down there, which is why it is important to help set up RP for players down there inbetween events and is something that will come in time (I hope)
