Nothing actually changes color for me. The padded armor just changes to different shades of brown, my mask wont change colors at all. Disappointing.. :-(

There may be some items that are not connected to whole color scale. I know the Spartan style helmet only comes in red fringe with gold helmet. Would be interesting to see if the new system allows it to be changed. This would be awesome and would allow me to realize my dream of a different set of armor for that style. I love the style but for a NEW PC it needs new colors for me. Otherwise it is just another Kory another build......

Several menus do not have 'go back' dialogue options, including the Armor Parts list and the Armor Type list.

There are no ways to change chest-level armor parts (quivers, bandoleers, etc).

Can the appearance changer be accessed in UD as well? As Lucky Aello is not an option.

Per Endelyon in IRC, it's in the Gloura's Wings.

For what it is worth, if the base item's natural color is mostly red, or blue or green or whatever, you will only have limited options to change it. Very few things are actually white, or more accurately shades of gray for a base color. For those that are shades-of-gray your color-changing efforts will be more visible.

PC2 = Valqis Sanejmeh; far away cartographer, Oracle of Nut at chaltin QulDaq, former navigator of the Sea Seeker, Reader of Candlekeep and sometime performer.

Is it possible to create a template that is a very close to white shade of grey for every piece of armor type we have? That way color changes are more visible?

That's a pretty significant bit of labor if enumerating on the model, some of the items wouldn't benefit much from just being set to the pure white standard in the toolset.

Fair enough. Just asking if that would make colors more pure for each item type we have. I was not aware that there were that many pieces to set in tone.

Okay, so, there's a problem with the mirrors that I'm not going to elaborate much on, but the mirrors are going away.

Instead, you will find the an item called "Appearance Kit" for sale at the following vendors:
  • Aello in Baldur's Gate
  • The Barkeep in the Winding Way Inn
  • Bentley and his wife, at the Friendly Arm Inn (and the Temple)
  • The basic equipment vendor in Gloura's Wings.
Over time, I will try to add this to more vendors, but these are the four places where we had consignment shops so it seemed like a good start, at least.

Use the item in your inventory to activate the dialogue.

Not being able to hit "Go back" is intentional. Finalizing a property or piece of armor will cause the dialogue to end, and cancelling the changes should return you to the main menu. This is working as intended, so try to make sure you pick the right choice the first time.

There are still things like Gargoyle wings and odd appearances that should not be used unless your character has a legitimate need to dress up for a play or masquerade (or something of a similar vein like that).
