Playing on cell phone data?
Hello,
Im wondering if it's possible or if anyone has played on the server via an iphone's hotspot? Im about to go on a business trip tomorrow and the venue Ill be at doesnt have the best wifi. I can do a hotspot on my phone but have never tried it, as I usually play at home. Does anyone know how much data it takes to play IG?
Just wondering if it's worth taking my laptop with me (ill have alot of down time at night).

I've done it a lot, and for me it was playable... Even had skype and youtube going on the same time.. Dont think the game takes that much data.

The last 15 days have me under 250 MB down and less than 90 up. You can play on a lower limit plan. Make sure you have already downloaded all your content however.

I did all the updates, thanks. I believe I have enough data (20 gigs). Hopefully thats good if there's another big update.

the server runs approximately 4 to 15 mbph. somewhat higher if you are grinding. at 15 mbph you can run about 9 gigs of data. Assuming you play 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Haha wow. Most modern phone games use more bandwidth.

I know Ravial has played through a mobile hotspot before, you just need to make certain you watch your data limits.

Windows 8 and above, you can set your connection to meter, which will give greater insight. NWN and NWN2 are pretty minimal for data transfer clientside.
