Tempus was not please with Argent's ditty about Tyr. Not pleased at all. If it hadn't been that Argent had only written it because he wasn't 'allowed' to praise Tempus, he might have withdrawn his favor completely.

Instead he has forbidden Argent to drink Beer for a year. That's a long time for Argent. If we said, "He likes his beer", that would be the understatement of the Age.

Argent did consider switching to Wine, but figured that Tempus might not appreciate the distinction. That decision was made easier by the local wine not being fit to grace the servant's table back home.

Argent figures that the lack of Beer will seriously dry up his songmaking abilities. As past ditties include "The Ballad of the Brown Ale", "Ten Full Bottles", "I'm not Bitter (When I'm Drinking Bitter)", and his Magnum Opus "Twelve Pints of Beer and a Serving Wench Please" he is probably right.

He's likely to be a 'bit' tetchy in the coming months, which means that his other great love, fighting, will be indulged more often. Tempus should be pleased. Maybe pleased enough to lift his ban? Argent's mood momentarily lightens at the thought.
