Can't take another Assassin level
I have a neutral Wizard/Bloodmage/Assassin/Archmage. At level up, I wanted to take my second Assassin level, but found that PrC unavailable to take (it's grayed out; the other three classes seem fine). Why? What can I do to change that? I perused the wiki and forum quite closely as to class requirements and restrictions, but couldn't find anything that makes the build illegal. It's especially strange since I already have at least one of every class.

Re: Can't take another Assassin level
Have you taken Archmage after the 1st level of Assassin?
If so, it might be that the Assasssin PRC wasnt updated to allow progression after picking AM.

Re: Can't take another Assassin level
Archmage is not supposed to be cross-classable with the assassin class, which is probably why you can't take additional levels. I thought the builder restricted taking the archmage class when you already had a prohibited class in your build, but I guess not.Archmage
WARNING/NOTE: This class can only cross class with the following: Arcane Scholar, Frost Mage, Pale Master, Red Wizard, Harper agent, Blood Magus, Sorcerer, Shadow Adept, Thaumaturgist or Wizard

This is supposed to be changed. AM should be able to multiclass with every class nowAvowed wrote:Archmage is not supposed to be cross-classable with the assassin class, which is probably why you can't take additional levels. Phew. That's what I thought having seen some talk about the Archmage restrictions having been loosened. The warning is not in the wiki either (though I just found it on the forum). So what can I do to go on levelling? The DMs I asked told me to post...

Re: Can't take another Assassin level
I've recently discovered that to fix these multiclassing restrictions we have to update about a million 2da files. Apparently it wasn't enough to simply restrict Archmage levels from being taken, but line was added to every class req 2da file to restrict levels from being taken in it if a level was taken in Archmage.
We'll get it worked out soon-ish hopefully.
