Probably somewhere in the region of 8.

That is, CON or DEX focused warlocks tend to be quite a bit better than the CHA based ones, and as with most things in this game it's better to focus entirely on something than to spread out your abilities to become a jack of all trades. Many invocations do fine without charisma, the best ones even, and the DCs are mediocre even if you focus on it.

So keep CHA at a minimum, unless you need it for something other than mechanical power.

Same mindset that casters need 19 to cast 9th level spells and bards need 16 charisma for their 6th level ones.

Many of the DC based invocations were broken last time I heard. There are no real minimum CHA requirements when playing a warlock. CON blasters and HiPS locks are almost always better than CHA DC controllers. If you play drow, you can pull off both HiPS and DC however.

This is just incorrect, sorry. You can be a warlock with any cha, even 6.

I'm pretty happy with my chr DC lock. She has two control moves daze and knockdown . Doesnt work well on bosses but I can get a frost giant to fail a fair bit. I probably won't have much success on players but it is unlimited uses and is just a nice cherry on the top of each attack.
If you go chr DC warlock take black guard for great saves and divine shield....you become fairly tanky. I start to feel op until I get bigbyd. ...She keeps dying at the 'hands' of bigby spells.

have to agree with tekil on this one. the high cha also makes for some much better RP imho. you can blast just fine with a control style lock.
