Other games?

Greetings community,

And Happy New Year! Wondering what other PC games do people play? Not sure I can get back into BGTSCC due to schedule but looking for similar RP oriented games that lends itself to character development. Not looking for a WoW style game...prefer something similar to the experience one can find here.

BGTSCC is the only place I've ever played. Hell, I never began the OC. I bought NWN2 just so I can jump here on the server.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

If you're looking for multiplayer RP communities, then you're not likely to find better than NWN1/NWN2 servers.


If you want single player RPGs, then my recommendations are:

• Dragon Age series
• Mass Effect series
• Vampire - The Masquerade: Bloodlines
• Pillars of Eternity
• Enderal for Skyrim

+1 vote for the Mass Effect series. I am not a Sci-Fi fan but those RPG's were superbly well written. There is also a new one coming out sometime in 2017 called Mass Effect Andromeda. Also if you enjoy free MOBA style games with super toxic communities League of Legends is still around and popular.

I second the Witcher 3. I was put off for awhile at playing a set character but the world's depth is stunning - sort of what I would imagine Neil Gaiman and GRRM would come up with if they co-authored. Other than that I'm enjoying Pillars of Eternity and occasionally dipping back into the BG Enhanced Editions.

Edit: Also waiting for Warhammer: Total War to come down in price.

I'll recommend a few NWN2 modules. Indanthrine Prince and The Umbral Abyss. If you haven't played this series of mods, I can't possibly recommend them enough. The dev team have done a fantastic job with these mods, and they're working towards a completed trilogy. You can read about them here:

I have seen some videos/streams of Arma 3 RP. It seems like there is a large RP community there. Not sure how serious it is, some of the videos showed at least some servers werent.

Been a bit addicted to DOTA after the recent update.

Well, they're a lot less toxic if you're good.

Thing is, you can't really go to the forums to scream OP or pester DMs when you get trashed, you actually have to learn to play properly, or you get reported over and over again...so, not exactly recommended for a few people around here (Kai would be golden, though, so good suggestion).

I know the feeling on schedule making putting on the server tough. You might want to just keep an eye on GOG sales, maybe make a wishlist. You'll never get the same experience with a regular rpg you get on this pw, but there are still plenty of fun, old school romps you'll likely enjoy.

Also I play maybe 1 to 2 games of LoL a day still.

Beyond computery stuff I have 2 irregularly scheduled tabletop games (one I DM).

I've searched for a while and haven't found anything even close to the experience one can get here. Once I get my cdkey issues sorted may return as just a casual player as time permits.
